Student answer (Band 5.0)
Clean water is very important in our lives. It plays a vital role in our daily routine. We use it for drinking, cleaning and cooking. I surely agree with this statement that every home should have a water supply that is provided free of cost, Because it is a bit expensive so everyone cannot afford.
Drinking clean water is very healthy for us. It saves us from dangerous diseases. For example, If we drink dirty water as well as we use dirty water for cooking. It can be cause of our sickness. It is better to drink clean water. For example in some areas, there is no supply of clean water. People uses dirty water for cooking, drinking and cleaning. It harms their health. As we clean our house with dirty water, There are alot of bacteria in dirty water. So it can may become disease later. It is better for them to provide water supply for them. The government must build pipelines and clean water for everyone that is provided free of cost. Morever some people may waste water, because for them water is free. For this reason, government should charge a small amount for them, as they don't waste water. As well as government must ask all people to save money, Because it is a gift by God.
In conclusion, We cannot live without water. So we should drink clean water and use clean water for cooking, It saves us from illness and many disease. If there will be no water left then there will be a huge problem for us. So we should use enough water according to our need and we should not waste it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear at the start: you agree that homes should receive clean water free of charge, and you give relevant reasons about health and affordability. The examples of people using dirty water and the risk of illness help explain why clean water matters. However, the response only partially develops the central question of whether the supply should be free. The point that people may waste free water, followed by the suggestion of charging a small amount, creates an unresolved qualification to your agreement. Explain how this concern can be addressed while preserving access as a right, and develop the affordability argument with a specific example. The response meets the required length; 12 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is some organisation: the opening states your view, the middle discusses health and access, and the conclusion returns to the importance of water. However, the overall progression is not consistently clear. The main body moves from dirty water and disease to free provision, then to waste and charging, without clearly separating or connecting these arguments. Linking phrases such as “For example,” “So,” and “As well as” are repeated or do not always show the relationship between ideas. Paragraphing would help: use one paragraph for health benefits and another for affordability and responsible use. Also make references explicit—for instance, clarify who “them” refers to in “provide water supply for them”—so the reader can follow the argument more easily.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the topic, including “clean water,” “diseases,” “pipelines,” and “government.” However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, especially “dirty water,” “clean water,” and “free of cost.” Some choices are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “It can be cause of our sickness,” “a lot of bacteria,” and “save money” where the intended idea appears to be conserving water. These choices sometimes make the meaning less precise, although the main message remains understandable. Build a wider set of topic-specific expressions and check collocations and word forms. For example, use “waterborne illnesses,” “affordable access,” and “conserve water” where appropriate.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Most sentences use simple patterns, and you attempt longer structures with “because,” “if,” and “as,” but these are often faulty. Examples include “It can be cause of our sickness,” “People uses dirty water,” and “it can may become disease later,” where verb forms, agreement, or sentence construction are incorrect. There are also frequent punctuation and capitalisation problems, such as capitalising “Because” and “There” after commas, and joining sentences without a space in “water.As.” These errors can make parts of the argument difficult to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and complete conditional sentences, then add complexity gradually—for example, “If people drink contaminated water, they may become ill.”
