Student answer (Band 6.0)
Every human being has the right to access of clean water. Therefore, I wholeheartedly agree that water should be supplied free of charge to every households, as access to clean water is crucial for human health.
Firstly, providing the clean water free of cost is important because it is beneficial for healthy life. If human beings do not drink clean water, they will be ill. When people drink impure water, this causes the different disease such as cholera, typhoid fever, diarrheal diseases, and hepatitis A and E. Many people effect from polluted water and may cause death. Free clean water can prevent the many diseases and promote public health. When people have regular access of clean water, they can maintain proper hygiene, it will reduce the infection.
Moreover, free water supply can ensure equal access to this basic necessity for all people. Poor people has low income and they can not afford the charges of supplied water. So, this provides valuable benefits to poor people because pure water is necessary for living healthy life.
On the others hands, free water can cause financial burden on government because large amount is required for this facility. Furthermore, this may also trigger the wastage of water because people could not pay for it.
To sum up, I agree that free clean water is basic need of human beings because we can not live without water. If we use impure water for cooking ,washing, and drinking in daily life, this cause detrimental effect on health. Some people has not enough money for paying charges of supplied water, so free clean water is also right of that people. Clean water is essential for human health.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening: you “wholeheartedly agree” that clean water should be free, and you return to this view in the conclusion. You address the main issue with relevant reasons, especially health protection and affordability for poorer households, and the examples of waterborne diseases help explain the health argument. You also acknowledge counterarguments about government costs and waste, which adds balance. However, these opposing points are only briefly stated, and the response does not explain how they might be addressed or weighed against the benefits. Some claims, such as free water preventing disease, would be stronger with a more precise explanation or a concrete example. The response covers the task well overall, but development is uneven.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, a paragraph presenting drawbacks, and a conclusion. Sequencing is easy to follow, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Moreover,” and “To sum up” make the argument’s direction clear. This gives the essay coherent progression. At times, however, linking feels mechanical, and some connections between ideas are not fully clear. For example, “When people have regular access of clean water, they can maintain proper hygiene, it will reduce the infection” joins two related points without a clear grammatical or cohesive link. The conclusion also repeats several earlier claims rather than synthesising them. More varied transitions and clearer links between cause and effect would make the organisation more fluent.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “impure water,” “cholera,” “public health,” “financial burden,” and “wastage.” These terms help communicate the main ideas, and the disease examples show an attempt to be specific. There are also several inaccurate or unnatural choices that limit precision, such as “access of clean water,” “the different disease,” “people effect from polluted water,” and “valuable benefits.” Repetition of “free,” “clean water,” and “people” also makes the vocabulary less flexible, particularly in the conclusion. Aim to use more natural collocations and vary references to the topic, while checking word forms and spelling. The meaning remains understandable, but greater accuracy would strengthen the essay’s expression.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If human beings do not drink clean water, they will be ill” and a concession introduced by “On the others hands.” This shows some range, and the main message is generally understandable. However, errors in agreement, articles, plurals, and sentence boundaries occur across the response. Examples include “every households,” “Poor people has,” and “this causes the different disease.” The sentence beginning “When people have regular access…” contains a comma splice, while “Some people has not enough money” has an inaccurate verb construction. These errors do not usually prevent understanding, but they reduce control. Practise checking subject–verb agreement and separating or joining clauses accurately, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
