Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you support free household water, especially for people in poverty, and you also propose charging for use beyond a basic allowance. This addresses the central question and gives relevant reasons, including water’s importance for survival and the burden bills may place on poorer communities. The idea of a basic free allowance with charges for excess use adds a useful qualification. However, some points are asserted rather than explained: the examples of washing cars and the percentage of the body made of water do not clearly show why all household supply should be free. Develop the policy proposal with a specific explanation of how it could protect access while discouraging waste, and support claims with more precise examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an identifiable progression from the importance of water, to affordability and conservation, and then to a concluding restatement of your view. Paragraphing also separates the main discussion from the conclusion. However, the progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined by repeated connectors such as “Furthermore,” “Moreover,” “Because,” and “So.” Some sentences beginning with “Because” are fragments, and the repeated conclusion that water should be free adds little development. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each reason to its explanation; for example, distinguish the argument about poverty from the separate proposal to charge for excessive use. This would make the organisation more purposeful and cohesion less repetitive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water supply,” “impoverished communities,” “policies,” and “basic need,” so the reader can understand the main argument. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as charging for water used “beyond the limit.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate or repetitive, including “free of charges,” “paying the water bills,” and “plays vital role.” Spelling errors such as “beigns,” “meliticulously,” “indiviuals,” and “absic” are noticeable and reduce accuracy. Build a more precise set of phrases for access, affordability, conservation, and excess consumption, and check spelling and natural word combinations during revision.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some complex structures, including conditional and relative clauses: “if they use the water for their basic work” and “individuals, who uses water beyond the limit.” The main meaning is generally recoverable, but control is inconsistent, and many sentences rely on short, simple patterns. There are errors in agreement and sentence construction, as in “individuals, who uses” and the fragment “Because water is essential for many works.” Missing or misplaced punctuation also makes some sentences run together, for example after “human beigns” and around “Furthermore.” Practise joining dependent clauses to complete sentences, checking subject–verb agreement, and using commas and full stops to separate ideas. Greater accuracy across these patterns would make the argument easier to read.
