Student answer (Band 4.0)

It is often argued that the clean water is a basic human right in the whole world. While some people believe that the clean water is big achievement in our life and every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. I strongly agree or disagree with this statement because they provide free of cost water, Incase they provide not of water to charge some low price and provided clean water.

The main reason why I agree or disagree with this view is that they provided free of cost because some poeple is ver poor and they not charge the price of this water. This is because I also belong to the poor family and I also not charge the high cost of pure water. For example, the water price decided very high and some people not effort the price and they cannot buy the pure water and at the end they can die.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You identify clean water as the issue and refer to affordability for poorer households, which is relevant to the question. However, your position is not clear: “I strongly agree or disagree” gives contradictory answers, and the opening also shifts between supporting free water and suggesting that people should “charge some low price.” The single reason is only briefly explained, and the example does not show how a free household supply would work or address possible costs. The response is also 145 words, below the required 250; 13 words copied from the prompt were not counted. To strengthen the response, state one definite position, develop at least two relevant reasons, and support them with specific examples.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure: an introduction followed by a paragraph giving a reason and an example. The second paragraph also attempts to connect the claim to personal experience using “This is because” and “For example.” However, the overall progression is difficult to follow because the introduction presents conflicting views, and the body repeats the idea of free water without clearly developing it. Some links, such as “because” and “and,” join ideas whose relationship is unclear. Organise the essay around a clear position, with each paragraph focused on one reason, and use linking phrases to show how each example supports that reason.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water,” “water supply,” “poor family,” and “price,” so the reader can identify the general subject. However, the range is narrow and several phrases are inaccurate or repetitive, which makes parts of the argument hard to understand. For example, “provided free of cost” repeats the same meaning, while “not effort the price” appears to mean that people cannot afford it. There are also spelling errors such as “poeple” and “Incase.” Build a more precise set of expressions for discussing access and affordability, and check spelling and collocations. For instance, use “afford the cost” and “low-income households” where appropriate.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “While some people believe…” and a cause-and-effect explanation with “This is because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence formation and verb patterns often make the meaning unclear. For example, “some poeple is ver poor” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “they not charge the price” is missing an auxiliary verb. The opening sentence beginning “While” is not completed as a clear contrast. Practise forming complete sentences with a clear subject and verb, and check agreement, auxiliary verbs, articles and punctuation. Aim for accurate simple sentences before adding more complex structures.
