Student answer (Band 6.0)

Access to clean water is a basic human right and need. Therefore, every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. I strongly agree with this point of view. However, there will be some positive and negative impact on society after the implementation of this rule.

Firslty, water plays a cruical role in every human life. In additon, no specie in this planet can live without water. This is government responsibility to provide free supply of water to their residents. For instance, residents pays a huge amount of tax every year to government for development and to improve quality of life in their respective country and city. So, they should be provided by free of cost water supply.

Secondly, providing free of charge supply of clean water can be helpful for poor residents also. Furthermore, people living in villiages are not provided by supply of water so they have to travel daily to rivers and ponds to collect water. In result, it will leads to more poverty in future. On the other hand, in cities people living in appartments and compounds face difficulty in water supply. Therefore, they need to pay huge amount of fees to water suppliers every month. So, providing them free of cost water supply can save their money and time and it will give a sense of relief to them.

In conculsion, water is basic necessity for human being. Therefore, it is government responsibility to provide water to their residents. However, there should be a proper check and balance for how water is utilized by residents also. So, there will be no waste of water.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that households should receive clean water free of charge, and you return to the government’s responsibility in the conclusion. You address the main issue with relevant reasons, including the burden on poorer residents and difficulties accessing water in villages and cities. This meets the task well, and the proposal for checks on water use adds a relevant qualification. However, some points are asserted rather than fully explained: for example, the link between travelling to collect water and “more poverty in future” is unclear, and the tax argument would be stronger with a specific explanation of why taxes should fund water. Develop these points more precisely to make the support consistently convincing.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In conclusion” make the progression easy to follow. Within the paragraphs, however, connections can feel mechanical because several sentences begin with “So,” “Furthermore,” or “Therefore.” Some links between ideas are also unclear: the claim that collecting water in villages “will lead to more poverty” needs an explicit explanation, and the shift from village access to apartment fees could be signposted more carefully. The final point about monitoring water use is relevant but arrives abruptly. Use a wider range of linking methods and make the relationship between each claim and its consequence explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “basic necessity,” “water supply,” “residents,” and “utilized.” There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “implementation of this rule” and “a sense of relief.” However, spelling errors such as “Firslty,” “cruical,” “villiages,” and “conculsion” are noticeable, and several expressions are unnatural or imprecise: “no specie in this planet,” “provided by free of cost,” and “huge amount of fees.” These choices sometimes make the reader pause, even though the overall meaning remains understandable. Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling carefully; more precise wording will help your vocabulary sound natural as well as relevant.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You use a mixture of simple sentences and some longer structures, including clauses introduced by “so,” “therefore,” and “however.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “residents pays” has a subject–verb agreement error, while “it will leads” combines a modal with an incorrect verb form. In “This is government responsibility,” an article or possessive is needed, and “no specie … can live” has a number-agreement problem. The sentence beginning “Furthermore, people living in villages…” also needs a clearer grammatical connection to the following result. Practise agreement, articles, plural forms, and verb patterns after modals, while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
