Student answer (Band 5.0)
Access to the clean water is a basic human right. Therfore every home should have a water supply for free of cost.
The earth is 70% of water, but we cannot drink or use that water which is in the ocean. But there are only some specific amount of water which can used after the certain purification process is over. If that was not the case, people would not boughter about the water. They would have used every single droplet of water present in the world.
Water has some charges or bills to be paid, because the supply of the water to you home need pipe connection. Water which can be used that should go under some purification process. The process which is made, it is not done withou any cost. So charging some amount of fees is needed.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You address the topic by explaining that ocean water is not drinkable without treatment and that pipes and purification create costs. This gives a relevant reason for charging households. However, the response does not clearly answer whether you agree or disagree with the proposal: the opening repeats the statement, while the final paragraph argues that fees are necessary without explicitly stating your position on whether water should be free. Ideas are also minimally developed, with no specific example or discussion of how charges could affect access for poorer households. The response is below the required 250 words, so the argument remains incomplete. State your position directly and develop it with explanations and relevant examples.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has a basic paragraph structure: it introduces the issue, explains the limited availability of usable water, and then discusses the costs of supply and purification. This helps the reader identify the main points. However, there is little overall progression from the background information to a clearly stated argument, and the relationship between the opening claim and the conclusion is not made explicit. Repeated use of “But” and “The process” creates a mechanical flow, while references such as “that water” and “that should” are not always clear. To improve, organise the essay around a clear position, use topic sentences to guide each paragraph, and connect each reason to that position.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “purification process,” “pipe connection,” “charges,” and “supply,” so the reader can follow the subject. There is some attempt to express distinctions, such as between ocean water and water that can be used after treatment. However, the range is limited and several phrases are inaccurate or unnatural, including “free of cost,” “specific amount of water,” and “some amount of fees.” Spelling errors such as “Therfore,” “boughter,” and “withou” also reduce accuracy. Build a wider set of precise expressions for water access, treatment, infrastructure, and affordability, and check spelling and collocations during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use mostly simple sentence forms and attempt some longer structures with “because,” “which,” and “if,” showing an effort to explain causes and conditions. However, the range remains limited, and errors occur frequently enough to make parts of the response awkward. Examples include “the supply of the water to you home need pipe connection,” where the possessive, verb agreement, and article use are problematic, and “which can used,” which needs a passive verb form. The sentence beginning “The process which is made” is also structurally unclear. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, possessives, and passive constructions, then combine ideas in clearer complex sentences.
