Student answer (Band 5.5)

it is often argued that every human needs water for thei survive in this world.I completely agree with this view because water is basic need which every person need if they can't have money.

First of all,One of the main reason is that if they received water by free of charge, they would not have worried about any kind of spend. For example, some poor people think before buying water because they can not spend money only on the water. As a result, They find it free of cost and supple by directly in their house so they drink it without any hesitation.

Furthermore, another important reason is that some older or sick people can not go out or buy drink for theirselves. In other words, If two eldery people leave home alone and they do not have any one who can buy or afford water for them so when they have supply water for free they can drink it with easier way. This can lead to provide free of water at home without going outside or any expectations for these reasons, I believe that every home should have water supply without any charges leads to better life for everyone.

In conclusion, I firmly believe that it is a good idea to provide free of charge water in every home because everyone neeed it in a good amount without any fear and some people are not able to buy it or go outside so it will be helped them to take clean water.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear from the opening—“I completely agree”—and you give two relevant reasons: affordability for poorer households and access for older or sick people. These points address the central proposal, but the response only partly develops the task. The examples remain hypothetical and general, and the discussion does not explain how a free household supply could be funded or why it should be free rather than affordable or subsidised. The final claim that this would “lead to better life” is also asserted rather than supported. To strengthen the response, explain the consequences of each reason in more detail and use a specific, relevant example to show why universal free provision is justified.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “First of all” and “Furthermore,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify your position and main reasons. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow, especially in the second body paragraph, where the example about two elderly people becomes a long, unclear sentence before returning to the main claim. Linking phrases such as “In other words” and “As a result” are used, but the relationships they introduce are not always precise. Improve cohesion by dividing long explanations into shorter sentences, making each paragraph develop one reason step by step, and ensuring that pronouns and references clearly identify who or what you mean.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “water supply,” “poor people,” “older or sick people,” and “free of charge.” However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making the meaning less clear. For example, “any kind of spend,” “buy drink,” and “with easier way” do not express the intended ideas naturally; “supple” also appears to be a misspelling of “supply.” Repetition of “free,” “water,” and “people” further limits variety. Build a more precise range of phrases for affordability and access, and check spelling and collocations so that your ideas are expressed clearly and naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including conditional structures such as “if they received water…” and a reason clause beginning “because.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and frequent errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the meaning. Examples include “every person need,” “they would not have worried,” and the extended sentence beginning “If two eldery people leave home alone,” which has unclear clause structure and agreement. Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, as in “First of all,One” and the capitalised “They” after a comma. Practise subject–verb agreement, consistent verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries. Breaking long sentences into shorter, complete clauses will improve accuracy and clarity.
