Student answer (Band 6.0)
In the era of development and modern facilities, it is the fundamental right of each person to get clean water at his doorstep without any cost. I agreed with this statement because water is essential for every aspect of life, and it is a natural resource with a wide distribution. To get clean and clear water is the preliminary need of people.
On the one hand, water should be provided to everyone because of its demand. It considered essential for living due to its immense uses in daily chores including drinking, cooking, washing, manufacturing, and other industrial works. Since its huge requirement, it should be provided fresh and uncontaminated. As there are so many industrial metals like cadmium gets in touch with waterbodies or even to the underground resources of water, that is causing various health issues like cancer, hepatitis, and other liver diseases. Therefore, government should make sure the chlorination of contaminated water before it headed towards homes.
Secondly, as water is distributed worldwide and made 75% of the earth, in which 97% is marine water, 2% lakes and glaciers, and only 1% is available for drinking purposes, public authorities should take steps to facilitate community by providing them water without any cost. They can help people by increasing buried water reservoirs, which supply water through long pipes to each house. In addition, they should introduce large water plants at streets from where public can get benfits.
Everyone has demand for clean water which is also the basic need of everybody, so that a free or cost friendly system should be encouraged to supply water to each home. So, water treatment plants and colossal water containers should be the best idea to fulfill these requirements. I strongly agreed that all these thing considered very significant in our living society.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be supplied to homes without charge, and you give relevant reasons, including its importance for daily life and the health risks of contamination. The discussion of treatment and public infrastructure also responds to the topic. However, some points are less fully developed than others. For example, the statistics about the proportion of water on Earth are presented without explaining how they support free household supply, and the suggestion of street water plants does not directly address access in every home. Develop the reasoning about who should pay and how free provision could be funded, and support each main point with a more specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two supporting paragraphs, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “On the one hand” and “Secondly” help signal the progression, and the main position remains identifiable. However, the first transition is not followed by a contrasting “other hand,” so it does not accurately describe the organisation. Some sentences also contain several connected ideas, making the line of reasoning harder to follow, particularly the sentence about industrial metals, health problems, and chlorination. Use topic sentences that state each paragraph’s main point, divide long explanations into clearer steps, and use linking expressions only when their logical relationship is accurate.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “uncontaminated,” “chlorination,” “underground resources,” and “water reservoirs.” These choices show an effort to discuss water supply and treatment precisely, and the meaning is generally understandable. Some word choices and collocations are less natural, however: “water at his doorstep,” “made 75% of the earth,” and “cost friendly system” do not express the intended ideas idiomatically. There are also spelling errors such as “benfits,” and “industrial metals” is imprecise in this context. Aim for accurate, natural combinations such as “household water supply,” “covers 75% of the Earth,” and “affordable system,” and check spelling during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses introduced by “because,” “since,” and “which.” This allows you to explain causes and consequences, and the overall meaning is usually clear. Some grammatical errors remain, particularly with verb forms, agreement, articles, and sentence construction. For instance, “I agreed” and “I strongly agreed” should use the present form to express your current opinion; “It considered essential” is missing a verb; and “metals like cadmium gets” has a subject–verb agreement problem. The sentence beginning “As there are so many industrial metals” is also difficult to control. Review these patterns and break complex explanations into shorter, complete sentences.
