Student answer (Band 5.5)

I am totally agree with the statement which is each house should have free clean water supply as it is a part of basic human need. Water is an essential element of each living creature. No of this creature can live without the water. But in terms of human it must be clean. We use water as our daily partner in every steps of our livilhood. For human the clean water is must have thing. We can not drink or use dirty water in any aspect of our life.

We use water for verious of work. Among them drinking water is most importent thing we do in our daily life. In a study researchers found that human body can live without food for 13 days but nobody can servive 7 days without drinking water. We also use water for other household work and other works.

But in our society we need to pay for clean water mostly in the urban areas.Which should not be imposed as there is a lack of sorces of water. We mostly used city coorporation water line as our main source of water. I understand that government impose minimum of charge but it should not be. There are some maintainance cost which government provide to the refinary farms. But they may charge for it uses. which i strongly believe will minimize unnecessery water consumption and create a berrier to weast water.

Clean water is also importent for good health. Dirty water can speard dengerous illness like Colera, dairia etc. For example, in recent days i have face illness due to consume water from the direct tap water. I doubted while drinking it because it smells different. Then i got sick which cause me 3 days leave from my office.

So i can conclude that, clean water is very much importent to our daily life as health is related with it. And government should not impose any kind of charges except discharge Tax.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be provided without charge, and you explain its importance for survival and health. The discussion of household uses and the illness you experienced after drinking tap water are relevant, concrete support. However, the argument is not fully consistent: you first oppose charges, then say the government may charge for maintenance and that charges could reduce waste, before concluding that charges should not be imposed except for a “discharge Tax.” This leaves your exact policy position unclear. The point about water scarcity is also introduced but not explained. Develop the distinction between free access to a basic amount and possible charges for excessive use, and explain how this would work.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable overall structure, moving from your position to reasons, a discussion of water charges, a health example, and a conclusion. Paragraphing helps separate these points, and phrases such as “For example” signal supporting evidence. However, progression is weakened by abrupt or unclear links. The paragraph beginning “But in our society” shifts from scarcity to charges and then maintenance costs without showing how these ideas connect; the contrast between opposing charges and supporting them is especially confusing. Some linking phrases, including “So i can conclude,” are mechanical, and references such as “it” in “it should not be” are not always precise. Organise each paragraph around one main reason and use clearer transitions to show how each point supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “essential,” “household work,” “source of water,” “maintenance cost,” and “dangerous illness.” These choices help communicate your main ideas, but the range is limited and several inaccurate or misspelled forms make the writing less clear and natural. Examples include “verious,” “importent,” “servive,” “sorces,” and “weast.” Some phrases are also awkward, such as “daily partner” and “must have thing,” while “discharge Tax” is unclear in this context. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully. For instance, “a basic necessity” is more natural than “must have thing,” and “water wastage” expresses the intended idea more clearly than “weast water.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more developed sentence forms, including the contrast in “But in terms of human it must be clean” and the example introduced with “For example.” The main ideas are generally understandable, but errors in sentence structure, agreement, articles, and punctuation occur across the response. For example, “I am totally agree” needs a different verb pattern, and “No of this creature can live” is not a correctly formed sentence. In “We use water as our daily partner in every steps,” the plural noun phrase does not agree with “every.” Several sentences also run together or have misplaced punctuation, such as “areas.Which.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then build longer sentences with clear clauses and consistent punctuation.
