Student answer (Band 5.5)
There is an ongoing debate about the availability of pollution free water, as it is involved in the fundamental rights of human beings. Because water fullfils the everyday needs of all every person. So, it is compulsory to make sure that, everyone gets water without any cost. Personally, i strongly agree with the statement, and in this essay i will explain it with examples.
The primary reason is that water is considered as the most basic need involved in everyone's life, so if it sells out at any cost, it becomes difficult for the people who belongs to disadvantage families. For instance, the person who hardly have an access to the basic necessities of life, such as food, clothes, it becomes challenging for him to manage even the water accessibility.
Likewise, clean water is the other most important challenge for world. Its essential to provide pollution free water to everyone's approach. Furthermore, contaiminated water causes a number of diseases, sometimes even lead to a serious issue. For example, if someone is drinking polluted water, it can cause a different kinds of allergies and gut health problems.
In conclusion, water is the most essential element of everyone's life. So, it should be provided without any charges, and it must be in a clean form.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that water should be free, and you give relevant reasons about affordability for disadvantaged people and the health risks of contaminated water. These points address the topic, but they are only briefly explained. For example, the first body paragraph describes hardship in general without showing how a free household supply would help, while the health paragraph does not distinguish free access from ensuring water is clean. The response also does not meet the stated 250-word minimum, which limits the opportunity to develop your reasoning and examples. To strengthen the response, explain each reason in more detail, add a specific example, and address how free provision could be achieved or funded.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “The primary reason” and “Likewise,” and a conclusion. This makes the main line of argument reasonably easy to follow. However, progression within the paragraphs is limited: the first moves from water as a basic need to affordability, but the example remains general; the second shifts from clean water to disease without clearly linking these points to the proposal that supply be free. Some connections are also awkward, such as “So” beginning a sentence after “Because.” Develop each paragraph around one clearly explained claim, and use linking phrases to show cause and effect rather than relying mainly on basic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “fundamental rights,” “basic necessities,” “contaminated water,” and “diseases,” so the reader can understand the subject and your main ideas. There is some attempt at less common phrasing, but several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “pollution free water,” “water accessibility,” and “everyone’s approach.” Spelling errors in “fullfils” and “contaiminated,” along with the repeated use of “basic” and “water,” also limit precision. Aim for natural combinations such as “access to clean water” and “provide water free of charge.” A wider range of accurate terms for affordability, public provision, and health impacts would make the argument more precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional example beginning “if someone is drinking polluted water.” However, complex structures are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to affect fluency. For example, “Because water fulfils…” is an incomplete sentence, while “the person who hardly have” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. In “if it sells out at any cost,” the verb construction does not express the intended meaning, and “it’s essential” needs an apostrophe. There are also punctuation and sentence-boundary problems, such as “life.So.” Practise building complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, checking agreement and verb forms, and separating ideas with accurate punctuation.
