Student answer (Band 6.0)
Acess to clean drinking water is basic human needs. That is why there ought to be supply of water in each home which is free of cost. I agree with the notion as nobody should be deprive of clean drinking water.
One of the key reason for access to clean drinking water is sound public health. Firstly, Citizens and countries which are facing challenges in getting clean drinking water suffer from water-borne disease such as diarrhoea, vomition, gastric upset. It affect the overall well- being of human. Secondly, It might have great impact in their daily work life as well. If people are not healthy they might not be able to perform their daily works with their full capacity. As a result it can result in lower level of income in family. Additionally, In most of the places individuals have to go far away or stay in queue to get water. For instance, still inside the Kathmandu valley in many places people have to face alot of difficulties to do their house hold chores due to insufficient amount of clean drinking water.
As I believe most part of the earth is made up of water. If a government takes responsibility and right approach then it will benefit majority of people in the country. To illustrate, government can make compulsion to instill natural filter in every home. One right action from government can change lives many people. Consequently, People of this nation are the one who helps build this nation. Therefore, their welfare matter the most.
In conclusion, I belive that water-borne disease and human health can be protected and it will eventually benefit the nation as well as people with the help of right government approach.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that homes should have access to free clean water, and the conclusion returns to the importance of health and national welfare. You give relevant reasons, especially the link between unsafe water, water-borne illness and people’s ability to work, and the Kathmandu example makes the access problem more concrete. This fully addresses the task at a solid level, with some evidence of the fuller development expected above it. However, the argument does not consistently explain why the supply should be free, rather than simply available, and the proposal to install a filter in every home is not clearly connected to free provision. Develop that distinction and explain how governments could fund or deliver the service.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. Ideas generally move from health effects to government responsibility, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “Additionally,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. This gives the essay an overall coherent arrangement. However, some links are mechanical or unclear. For example, “As I believe most part of the earth is made up of water” does not clearly connect the previous discussion to the government’s role, and “Consequently” introduces a broad statement about citizens rather than a clear result of the preceding point. Use more precise links between claims and explanations, and organise each paragraph around one main point with its supporting reasoning.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water-borne disease,” “public health,” “insufficient amount,” and “government approach,” so the reader can understand the main subject and your position. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as the effects on “daily work life.” However, noticeable spelling, word-form and collocation problems reduce precision: “Acess,” “vomition,” “alot,” and “house hold chores” are examples, while “make compulsion to instill natural filter” is difficult to interpret naturally. Some wording is also repetitive, particularly repeated references to clean drinking water and government action. Build accuracy with common collocations and check spelling and word forms; this would make your adequate range more flexible and clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including conditional structures such as “If people are not healthy…” and “If a government takes responsibility…,” as well as cause-and-effect sentences. These attempts allow you to explain consequences, and the overall meaning is usually recoverable. Some grammatical errors remain, however, particularly with articles, agreement, plurals and sentence boundaries. For example, “One of the key reason … is” needs plural agreement, while “It affect” and “their welfare matter” also have subject–verb agreement problems. The opening has a missing space after “needs,” and several sentences use commas or full stops inconsistently. Review agreement and article use, and proofread punctuation while retaining your attempts at complex sentences.
