Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
You give a clear general position in favour of free household water, and you mention relevant reasons: water is essential for drinking and cooking, and access may protect people from disease. You also introduce a counterargument about government affordability and people wasting or mishandling free water. However, these points are only briefly stated, and the response does not fully develop the discussion or support its claims with a specific example. The response contains 103 words, below the required 250; the nine words copied from the task prompt are not included in that count. This shortfall leaves important parts of the argument unexplained. To strengthen the response, explain how free provision could be funded and address the concern about waste before reaching a clear conclusion.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
There is a basic sequence of ideas: you state your opinion, explain why water matters, and then introduce an opposing consideration with “on other hand.” This gives the reader some sense of direction. However, the response is not divided into clear paragraphs, and the progression stops abruptly rather than developing into a complete argument. Connections between ideas are sometimes unclear, as in “because its safe peoples from many disease. its impact on people,” where the relationship between the claim and its consequence is difficult to follow. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and counterargument, and connect each point with clear transitions. A concluding sentence would also help the response feel complete.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “clean water,” “basic human right,” “free water supply,” “cooking,” and “drinking.” These choices make your main subject and position recognisable. However, the range is limited and some wording is repetitive or imprecise, such as “water is a basic human need” followed by “no one can live without water.” Several spelling errors, including “shuold,” “affoard,” and “peole,” also make the writing less clear. Some phrases do not express the intended meaning naturally, particularly “put the water in different pots.” Build a wider set of topic vocabulary and check spelling; more precise expressions for affordability, public health, and water conservation would help you explain your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to express a position and give reasons, but sentence structures are mostly simple, and errors frequently affect clarity. For example, “so am agree with this” has an incorrect verb pattern, while “water is a essential part of oue life” has an article error. The sentence beginning “if government provide free free to everyone” is incomplete and does not clearly connect its condition to a main clause. There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “government cannot affoard it and peole does not taking care.” Practise forming complete sentences with a subject and verb, and use conjunctions to link reasons accurately. Then check articles, verb forms, and punctuation when editing.
