Student answer (Band 6.0)
Water is a crucial part of our lives since stone ages. It plays a vital role in our day to day tasks and also in order to have a healthy life. It is the necessarity of human body, and without its sufficient supply our health can detriorate resulting in the losing the life.
Hydration is one of the major factor that regulates our body functioning and helps our body to remain active and in the best of its version. In addition to it, its plays a vital role in our cooking processes, we need to cook different types of things that requires water as a vital ingredient. For instance for boiling the rice, for making the green tea. Beside all these uses, it plays a significant role in cleaniness and hygiene factor. Water is very crucial for us to clean ourselves and to maintain a good hygiene. Without maintaing a decent sense of hygiene, we can also encounter various health and allergy issues.
I completely agree on the stance that every home should have a clean water supply and that must be provided free of charge. As, water is very important for a human being in every aspect. As according to the international human rights law, it is the right of every human to get the access of every basic necessarity in order to sustain a life and charging for this basic necessary could led to the violation of this law.
In conclusion, their must be some precautions and actions taken up to save water but that must not include any sort of charges, this necessary must be available to everyone regardless of the fact if anyone can afford it or not.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear: you agree that every home should receive clean water free of charge, and you give relevant reasons connected to health, cooking, and hygiene. The examples of boiling rice and making green tea help illustrate water’s everyday importance. You also refer to human rights, which directly supports your view. However, several points are asserted rather than developed: for example, the claim that charging for water violates international human rights law needs explanation or a specific supporting example. The discussion of saving water in the conclusion is also introduced without being developed in the main argument. To strengthen the response, explain how free provision could be funded and address concerns such as waste or limited water resources.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure, moving from water’s uses to your position and then to a conclusion. Paragraphing helps separate the general discussion from your argument, and linking expressions such as “In addition” and “In conclusion” make the sequence easy to follow. This meets the lower-band expectation of coherent organisation and shows some ability to connect ideas. However, the first two paragraphs overlap in their discussion of water’s importance, while the central argument is comparatively brief. Some transitions, including “Beside all these uses,” feel formulaic, and the final reference to precautions is not clearly linked to the preceding point. Group related reasons into a more focused argument and use transitions that show the precise relationship between ideas.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use a relevant range of vocabulary, including “hydration,” “sufficient supply,” “human rights,” and “hygiene,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “plays a vital role” and “violation.” However, inaccurate word forms, spelling, and collocations are noticeable and sometimes make the writing less natural: “necessarity,” “detriorate,” “cleaniness,” and “maintaining a decent sense of hygiene” are examples. Phrases such as “the best of its version” and “charging for this basic necessary” are also unclear or unnatural. Aim for precise, conventional combinations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this will make your vocabulary more effective without requiring unnecessarily complex wording.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a reason clause with “since” and a conditional construction beginning “Without maintaining…”. Most of the argument remains understandable, and the response shows some variety rather than relying entirely on short sentences. However, some grammatical errors recur. For example, “Hydration is one of the major factor” has a singular–plural agreement problem, and “its plays” uses the wrong subject form. The sentence beginning “As, water is very important…” is a fragment, while “could led” has an incorrect verb form. There are also issues with articles and sentence boundaries. Review agreement, verb forms, and how to join dependent clauses; accurate control of these patterns would make your complex sentences clearer.
