Student answer (Band 5.5)

Clean water is basic human need. In my opinion every home should have access to clean water supply for free of charge arranged by the government.

On the one hand, clean Water supply is essential need of every human being for living. Purified water access is important because if the water is not cleaned proplerly and contain harmful chemials it will cause sever illness in the body. Contmainted water will lead to serious infections in the body of people which will effect their daily routine and their working schedule. Now a days, their is complete awerness on taking healthy food and purify water to maintain a healthy life style and access to it should be provided to every person either he is poor or rich but utilizating it in essential way is also equally important. For instance, In my neigbors their is a family who have access to clean water but they donot take the responsibilty to use it carefully they water their plants too much and i have seen most of the time washing their garage they waste alot of water, through which other people around them suffer from shortage of clean water.

Futhermore, Government should take action on this and should arrange water which is free from all toxins because every citizen pays their taxes so they all have equall right to have access to all things that are nessesary for human living. Every person is not able to afford purify water from market because its expensive to buy it. For a developing country first thing is to fullfill basic huamn rights. If high authortised will maintain it it will lead to healthy employes less hopital bills and more focus on the work.

In conclusion, Having clean is primary right of every citizen, but using it properly without wasting it is also righ of citizen to avoid any kind to dismanagment. Both government and citizen are equally responsible for maintaing healthy access to water.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you support government-provided free access to clean water, and you give relevant reasons, including health risks from contaminated water, affordability, and citizens’ taxes. The example of neighbours wasting water also adds a practical dimension. This addresses the main question, but some points are not fully developed or precisely connected to the proposal. For example, the neighbours’ waste illustrates the need to conserve water, but you do not explain how free provision could be managed alongside conservation. The claim that clean water would lead to “healthy employees” and fewer hospital bills is also asserted rather than explained. Develop these links and clarify whether you mean a free basic supply or unlimited free use.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “On the one hand” and “Furthermore,” and a conclusion. The ideas are generally relevant and can be followed, but progression within paragraphs is sometimes loose. In the first body paragraph, the discussion moves from illness to healthy lifestyles and then to neighbours’ water use without clearly showing how each point supports free household provision. Some linking is mechanical, and references such as “it” in “access to it” are not always precise. Organise each paragraph around one main reason, use clearer transitions between supporting points, and make pronoun references explicit to strengthen the overall flow.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “harmful chemicals,” “serious infections,” “shortage,” “taxes,” and “human rights,” so the reader can understand your main ideas. However, the range and control are limited by repeated general wording such as “clean water,” “access,” and “every person,” as well as several inaccurate or unnatural choices: “purify water,” “healthy employees,” and “dismanagment.” Numerous spelling errors, including “proplerly,” “Contmainted,” and “awerness,” also make the writing less fluent and can distract the reader. Build a more precise range of water-policy vocabulary and check spelling and collocations carefully; for example, distinguish a “safe water supply” from “water purification.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including conditional and cause-and-effect structures such as “if the water is not cleaned properly … it will cause” illness. This shows some range, and the central meaning is usually recoverable. However, errors in articles, agreement, sentence construction, and punctuation recur. Examples include “Clean water is basic human need,” “their is complete awareness,” and “every citizen pays their taxes so they all have equal right.” The final sentence, “Having clean is primary right of every citizen,” is also structurally incomplete. Practise accurate article use, subject–verb agreement, and complete sentence patterns, then proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
