Student answer (Band 5.5)

Water, no boubt a basic requirement of all living things. Without water, there is no life on this universe. It is also an atmost thing for human beings but must be clean. Our planet has much proportion of water than land but all the available water is not suitable for drinking. Only clean and free from all entities are able to use for humans.

Declining of clean water resources are a big problem that we are facing. Due to many reasons, water under the land is polluting that is actually a free and most important resource. Also people near industrial area and at far places from cities facing the same issue. To cop with this problem, there are many steps that have been taken since last few years.

In last few years, Governmnet in differnet countries had set up water cleaning plants in almost every town or in every city. Besides this, thay had setup proper under ground pipelines for supply without any interption. This is no doubt a great step but they are charging for this and i agreed with this to much extent. As we all know, clean water resources are declining day by day but we are not paying attention to it. We are wasting water and use it properly.

Take an example of my country, here at most places water is evacuted by motors that is available in every home. People are wasting it as compared to its use. If there are some charges for watersupply rather than individual evacution system than people will suerly not waste it beacuse they have to pay for it. Also i agreed with those countries who are charging people because it is one of the easy way to remind them not to waste it and use it wisely. Also there is a cost for water cleaning, so you have to pay as much you use. If it is funded by government then it must be collected by tax system which will be equal for all that is actually not fair for people who often use it as compared to others.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5

Your position is clear: you agree that households should pay for water, mainly because charges may discourage waste and help cover treatment costs. These are relevant reasons, and the example of household motors in your country gives the argument a personal, concrete basis. You also acknowledge the opposing idea of government funding through taxes. This covers the main issue, but the response does not fully explore the distinction between access to a basic supply and charging for water, nor does it explain how poorer households could be protected. Some claims, such as people wasting water because it is free, would benefit from more specific support. Develop these points and address the human-rights aspect more directly to make the argument more complete and persuasive.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has an overall structure: it introduces the importance of water, describes supply problems, and then presents reasons for charging, supported by an example. Paragraphing helps separate these stages, and expressions such as “Besides this” and “Take an example” signal relationships between ideas. However, progression is sometimes weakened by mechanical repetition of “Also” and by links that do not clearly show the logic. For example, the discussion moves from declining resources to charging without fully explaining the connection, and the final comparison with taxation is compressed into a long sentence. Use clearer topic sentences and vary linking devices; make each paragraph develop one main point in a deliberate sequence.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water resources,” “water cleaning plants,” “underground pipelines,” and “tax system,” so the reader can follow the subject. However, the range is limited and several inaccurate word choices or collocations make parts difficult to understand. Phrases such as “an atmost thing,” “all entities,” “water is evacuted by motors,” and “use it properly” do not express the intended meanings clearly. Spelling errors, including “boubt,” “Governmnet,” and “interption,” are also noticeable. Build a more precise set of water-related expressions and check spelling and collocation carefully; this will make your ideas clearer without requiring unnecessarily advanced vocabulary.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more extended sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “If there are some charges … people will surely not waste it” and a reason introduced by “because.” However, control is inconsistent, and errors in sentence formation and grammatical relationships sometimes make meaning harder to follow. The opening, “Water, no doubt a basic requirement of all living things,” is a fragment, while “Only clean and free from all entities are able to use for humans” lacks a clear subject and correct structure. There are also problems with agreement and articles, as in “people … facing” and “there is a cost.” Practise complete sentences, subject–verb agreement, and article use, then proofread longer sentences for clarity.
