Student answer (Band 5.5)
It is often claimed that access to clean water is basic human right and ever home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. It is totally a right statment and i firmly agree with this statment with several reasons.
To begin with, In this modern era as the population increacing the number of factories is also increasing as well and they lead to pollution which is very bad for human health and all these factories also have waste which is bad for our environment. The factories mostly thorw all their waste to the rivers same as the trash companies also throw all garbige to rivers and after this the river water become very harmfull for human health because of bad camicals present in it.
Moreover, Nowadays in some areas water from direct to the earth in also very harmfull because of humans. The homes who can afford expensive filtration plants have clean water or the water purifying companies who have a large numbers of filtration plants and they clean water but they sell water at very high price and not everyone can afford it. Thats why the poor peoples who cant afford expesive filtration plants or purified water, they have many bad diseases because of the dirty water.
In conclusion, We have to end all these thing like only the rich people can drink clean and pure water. The poor people also have riht to drink pure and clean water. The government should instal free water purifying plants in everyones home so they can drink clean and pure water.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be available to everyone, and you give relevant reasons involving pollution and the cost of filtration. The example of poorer households being unable to afford purified water supports your view. However, the response only partly develops the task: it does not explain how a free household supply could be funded or managed, and the final suggestion of installing free purification plants in every home is not fully connected to the claim that water itself should be free. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation or example, and address the practical implications of your position. The response meets the required length; 12 words copied from the task prompt were not counted.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Moreover,” and a conclusion. The ideas are generally relevant and the reader can follow the broad argument from pollution to unequal access. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes unclear: the first body paragraph moves from population growth to factories and then to waste in rivers without clearly showing how these points connect to the proposed free supply. Several sentences also run together, and repeated references to “clean and pure water” make the conclusion less effective. Use clearer topic sentences, divide long chains of ideas into separate sentences, and make links between each reason and your position more explicit.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “pollution,” “environment,” “filtration plants,” and “purified water,” which helps communicate the main concerns. However, the range is limited and several words or phrases are repeated, particularly “clean and pure water” and “bad.” There are also noticeable spelling and word-choice errors, such as “garbige,” “harmfull,” and “camicals,” which can distract the reader. Some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, including “water from direct to the earth” and “trash companies.” Build a more precise range for discussing water access and public services, and check spelling and collocations carefully so your meaning is consistently clear.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a sentence beginning “The homes who can afford…” and a cause-and-effect explanation about factories. However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some passages difficult to read. Examples include “as the population increacing the number of factories is also increasing,” where the clause structure is incomplete, and “the river water become,” where subject–verb agreement and tense are not controlled. Articles and sentence boundaries also need attention, as in “access to clean water is basic human right” and the long opening sentence of the first body paragraph. Practise building accurate clauses first, then combine them with conjunctions and punctuation.
