Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is an ongoing debate about whether water supply should be free of charge to every home as clean water is a basic human requirement. I completely agree with this view because free of charge water supply improve hygiene and economic growth of society.
One major reason to support this view is that free of charge water improve people hygiene and health. This is because clean water is less accessiable for people in populated areas that force them to compromise on their basic hygiene needs. For Example, In rural area people forced to avoid basic hygiene: daily bath, proper cleaning of house, and clothes, that at the end effect on the people health, growth and development. Therefore, clean water free of charge can allow people to focus on proper hygience.
Another major reason to support this view is that free of charge water supply helps people to focus on economic development instead of focusing on clean water. This can be explained by the fact that people is high populated cities may unable to afford clean water due to high charges. For instance, In cities like karachi clean water is very difficult and expensive for people specifically for financially difficult families. As a result, free of charge helps people to focusing on economic development and growth rather than worrying for clean water.
In conclusion, access to clean water free charge improve people hygience, and contribute to economic development of people. Overall, I strongly agree that clean water should be accessiable to everyone regardless of their financial background.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You address the central issue with two relevant reasons: improved hygiene and health, and the possibility of directing household resources towards economic development. The Karachi example also gives the second point a concrete context. However, the ideas are not equally developed: the hygiene paragraph lists daily bathing and cleaning but does not explain in detail how free provision would address access or supply, while the economic argument needs a clearer link between water costs and broader development. To strengthen the response, explain the mechanisms behind each claim and add a specific, relevant example or consequence. This would make the support more fully developed rather than relying on broad assertions.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Topic sentences such as “One major reason” and “Another major reason” help readers follow the argument, and “For instance” introduces an example appropriately. This gives the essay a coherent progression. However, the repeated “free of charge” phrasing and similar paragraph openings make cohesion somewhat mechanical. Some links between claims are also abrupt: the move from expensive water in Karachi to economic development is asserted rather than explained. Use a wider range of linking and referencing expressions, and make the relationship between each example and its main point explicit. This would make the progression smoother and less repetitive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “basic human requirement,” “hygiene,” “financial background,” and “economic development,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. There are also attempts to express more specific concepts, such as “populated areas” and “financially difficult families.” However, the range is limited by repeated wording, especially “free of charge,” “people,” and “clean water,” and several choices or spellings are inaccurate: “accessiable,” “hygience,” and “people hygiene.” Some phrases are also unnatural, such as “worrying for clean water.” Build a broader set of accurate collocations for access, affordability, sanitation, and public health, and check spelling and word forms carefully. More precise vocabulary would make the argument clearer and more fluent.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including explanations introduced by “This is because” and “This can be explained by the fact that.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, and the essay’s paragraph structure supports comprehension. However, errors in agreement, verb forms, articles, and sentence construction occur across the response. For example, “water supply improve” needs subject–verb agreement, “people is high populated cities” has several grammatical problems, and “people forced to avoid” is missing a finite verb. The sentence beginning “This is because clean water is less…” also has an unclear relative clause. Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, correct agreement, and complete clauses. Greater accuracy in these patterns would complement the range you are already attempting.
