Student answer (Band 6.0)
Firstly, human rights have always been a priority of all developed nations while in developing countries they are still being ignored, among the basic human rights the most important is the clean water supply without which life cannot exist and its the first most basic need of life on this planet
Providing clean water supply to all the population is the responsibility of the government authorities and it should be free of cost for everyone, rich or poor because if its not free than most of us especially in developing countries may suffer with clean water shortage which will force them to shift to unhygienic source of water which would be devastating because of its health issues. Use of contaminated water can causes serious health problems including typhoid, giardiasis etc. It's obligatory for the authorities to provide clean water and it must be free of cost otherwise the poor will be deprived of this.
But keeping in consideration the infrastructure and economic conditions of a nation it might be a problem for authorities to supply clean water to all its people free of cost because they don't have enough resources and facilities to accommodate all the people for free water. Plus the people of developing nations have no awareness about the basic human rights and they don't even demand their rights which causes the government to overlook this issue
In short its the violation of basic human rights to not provide every soul with a hygienic water and every nation should plane out a strategy to meet this requirement

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
You take a clear position in favour of free household water, arguing that access is a human right and that charging could leave poorer people relying on unsafe sources. The examples of typhoid and giardiasis make the health consequences relevant, and you also acknowledge a counterargument about limited infrastructure and resources. However, that qualification is not fully resolved: the essay does not explain how governments could meet the cost or whether free provision might be limited to essential household use. The point that people in developing countries may not demand their rights is also asserted rather than supported. Develop these ideas with a specific example and a clearer response to the practical objection to make the argument more complete.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: it introduces the issue, presents reasons for free provision, considers a practical difficulty, and ends with a conclusion. Paragraphing helps distinguish these stages, and signposts such as “Firstly,” “But,” and “In short” make the direction of the argument apparent. At times, however, the progression within paragraphs is less controlled. The first paragraph is a long sentence, while the second combines the responsibility of government, affordability, health effects, and an obligation into one extended block. Some links are also mechanical or unclear, such as “Plus” and the shift from limited resources to public awareness. Use clearer sentence boundaries and connect each supporting point explicitly to your position.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic-related vocabulary, including “human rights,” “contaminated water,” “infrastructure,” “economic conditions,” and “deprived.” These choices help communicate the central argument, and the health examples add useful specificity. There are also attempts at less common or formal phrasing, but some expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “free of cost,” “suffer with clean water shortage,” and “plane out a strategy.” “Every soul” is also an overly dramatic choice for an academic essay. Spelling and word-form slips, including “its” for “it’s” and “plane” for “plan,” reduce precision. Aim for standard collocations and a consistently formal register while retaining the relevant topic vocabulary.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex structures, including a conditional explanation beginning “if it’s not free” and a concession about infrastructure and economic conditions. The main ideas remain understandable, but some errors in sentence construction and punctuation make the writing less controlled. The opening is a run-on sentence, and the second paragraph contains several clauses joined without clear boundaries. There are also errors such as “Use of contaminated water can causes,” where the verb form should agree with “can,” and “the most important is the clean water supply,” which needs a clearer grammatical structure. Review subject–verb agreement, articles, and sentence boundaries, and practise building complex sentences that remain accurate.
