Student answer (Band 5.0)
Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.it should responsibility of government
firstly i largely agree with this point of view because it is basic need for life water is major requirements for all house chores and other things for example water is needed to clean house water is required to clean and wash pots and cloths therefore for cleanliness there is also need of water so water should provided to every house through water supply
secondly it should be responsinility of government to insure every citizen with water pipe lines every house has access to water as it is basic need for life for example in rural areas most people struggle for water resources and they spend half of the time to take water to home in cities there are water supply and sewage system so it make life comfortable it is right of every citizen they have water.water supply helps in saving time of people government can also eqrn froum it like houses which water supply should pay bill every month as it also create opportunities for work
in conclusion i believe that water and supply supply should be provided to every citizen and humanity as it is basic needed for life so everyone has access to it further government should introduce new schems for water supply to overcome problem of water

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You state a clear general position—“i largely agree”—and give relevant reasons, including water’s role in household cleanliness and the difficulties faced by people in rural areas. You also suggest that households could pay a bill, which adds some nuance to the idea of free provision. However, the response only partly develops the argument: it does not clearly explain whether a basic amount should be free while extra use is charged, and the point about government earning money is not fully connected to the proposal. The response contains 217 words, so it is 33 words below the 250-word minimum; 23 words copied from the task prompt were not counted. Develop each reason with clearer explanation or a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an opening position, two reason-led sections beginning “firstly” and “secondly,” and a conclusion. This helps the reader identify the main points. However, progression within the paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow because several ideas are joined together without clear sentence boundaries. For example, the discussion moves from rural water access to city sewage systems, saving time, and employment opportunities in one long sequence. The repeated use of “for example” and “so” also makes linking mechanical. Use separate paragraphs for distinct reasons, and connect each example directly to the claim it supports. Clearer punctuation and reference to “this policy” or “such a supply” would improve flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate the main ideas, including “basic need,” “water resources,” “water supply,” and “sewage system.” These terms show awareness of the subject, but the range is limited and several phrases are repeated, particularly “water” and “basic need.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, such as “water is major requirements,” “water pipe lines,” and “government should introduce new schems.” Spelling errors such as “responsinility,” “insure,” and “eqrn” also make parts of the response harder to read. Build a more precise range for discussing access, infrastructure, costs, and conservation, and check spelling and word forms carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your response mainly uses simple statements and attempts to connect ideas with “because,” “for example,” and “as.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and attempts to combine several clauses often produce faulty sentences. For instance, “it should responsibility of government” is missing a verb, while “it is basic need for life water is major requirements” joins clauses without appropriate punctuation and has agreement and article problems. There are also recurring errors with articles, verb forms, and sentence boundaries, as in “water should provided” and “it is right of every citizen they have water.” Practise accurate basic sentence patterns first, then add complex clauses with correct punctuation.
