Student answer (Band 6.5)
Clearly, free supply of water is a basic necessity in every household since access to clean water is a basic human need. It is because no living being can live without water and that is why I agree with this opinion and believe that water should be accessible to everyone regardless of their purchasing class.
Firstly, 70% of human body is made up of water and the organs in a human body live on water. Due to lack of water, cells, that are the basic units of a human body, will stop functioning. Consequently, humans will die if they do not consume water for a long time. Furthermore, clean water is also a must as polluted water can cause chronic diseases like Diarrhea, Cholera etc. and even skin diseases or hair issues. For instance, many people living near the coastal areas in Bangladesh are deprived of clean water and use salty sea water for their basic needs which are causing them skin diseases and hair fall.
Secondly, accessible water should be free of cost to use as human lives depend on it. If people need to pay charges for water usage, the low-income people might suffer to get enough water and might end up using polluted water or using immoral ways to get free water. Conversly, when people start getting water for absolutely free, they might end up misusing or wasting it. Hence, government must put some limitations to water usage in order to prevent this.
To conclude, because of water being a necessity for every living being, it should be free and accessible to all. However, government and authorities must put some measures in oder to reduce the waste of water.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 7.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that water should be available to everyone, and you return to this view in the conclusion. You address the central issue with relevant reasons, including water’s importance to health, the risks of polluted supplies, and the hardship that charges could create for low-income households. The Bangladesh example helps make the health point concrete. To strengthen the response further, develop the affordability argument with a specific explanation or example, and clarify how free provision could be balanced with the need to discourage waste. The claim that people might use “immoral ways” is not explained, so it is less convincing than your other support. (The required length was met; eight words copied from the prompt were not counted.)
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The essay has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two reason-based body paragraphs, and a conclusion. Sequencing signals such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” “Furthermore,” and “To conclude” make the progression easy to follow, and the example is placed appropriately after the point about unsafe water. This coherent arrangement is supported by relevant links between causes and consequences. However, the repeated use of explicit transition words can feel mechanical, and some connections need clearer development. In particular, the shift from the risk of unaffordable water to the possibility of waste is abrupt; explain how a free basic allowance or usage limits would address both concerns. More precise referencing would also help the reader follow the argument.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “polluted water,” “low-income people,” “chronic diseases,” and “water usage,” which allows you to discuss health and affordability clearly. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “deprived of clean water.” However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural: “purchasing class” is unclear, “organs … live on water” is not idiomatic, and “skin diseases and hair fall” could be expressed more precisely. “Conversly” and “oder” are spelling errors, while “Diarrhea” is unnecessarily capitalised. Aim for more natural combinations and check spelling and capitalisation carefully; this would make the vocabulary more precise without changing your ideas.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 6.0
You use a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including cause-and-effect clauses with “since,” “because,” and “if,” as well as a conditional sentence beginning “If people need to pay charges.” Most of the meaning remains clear, and the paragraphing helps readers interpret the argument. Some grammatical errors remain, however. For example, “70% of human body” needs an article or possessive determiner, and “cells, that are the basic units…” uses an unnecessary comma before a defining clause. The sentence beginning “It is because” is awkwardly constructed, while “government must put” needs an article or plural form. Review articles, relative-clause punctuation, and sentence construction, then proofread for these patterns.
