Student answer (Band 6.0)

The fresh and filtered water is essential need of human to live healthy lives. The availability of the pure water to the human is their fundamental right and free of cost provision of water supply must be advocated to normallize this. There are several reasons to support this perspective like the severe health problems and financial status also plays an important role in this, however the issue of water loss and misuse by people and governmental ability also hinders this idea.

To commence with, the people living in any of the country are now facing the shortage of the clean water and especially it hits the countries which are underdeveloped. The people from these countries then rely on the contaminated water available to them on ease, which has became the cause of severe diseases like here in Pakistan people are affected by Typhoid and Hepatits and some other damaging diseases. Even if someone buys from the Mart there is a chance of low quality purification in that also.

The complications become more worse when the financial barrier comes in this problem, many people from the second and third world countries can't buy the filtered water easily and that in larger amount. This again put their body requirements on stack and they often deals with issues with their kidneys and dehydration.

Though, the misues of the water also leading to this problem, and government and agencies should educate about the water usage. But again this does not mean governments should take their eyes of from this issue just because of people ignorance, rather they should provide proper water facilities and make them aware of its use.

To sum up, the ask for the free pure water availability is the fundamental right of every human. The issues people generally has to face off related to their health and wellbeing is due to no provision of water supply, also governments should run campaigns for people awareness.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you support free access to clean water, and you acknowledge concerns about misuse and governments’ capacity. The health and affordability points are relevant, with the Pakistan example helping illustrate the consequences of unsafe water. This addresses the main question, but the argument is not developed evenly. The discussion of financial barriers explains why people may be unable to buy filtered water, yet it does not fully show how a free household supply would be funded or managed. Likewise, water misuse is raised but only briefly answered through education. To strengthen the response, explain what “free” provision would mean in practice and develop one or two examples that directly support your position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, separate paragraphs on health and affordability, a counterpoint about misuse, and a conclusion. Sequencing is generally understandable, and phrases such as “To commence with” and “To sum up” signal stages in the argument. However, some links feel mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is not always clear. For example, the opening lists health, financial status, water loss, and government ability, but the body does not develop government ability as a distinct point. The sentence beginning “Though, the misuse…” also joins the counterargument and response awkwardly. Use clearer topic sentences and connect each paragraph’s evidence explicitly to the claim that water should be free.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “contaminated water,” “filtered water,” “financial barrier,” and “dehydration,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “fundamental right.” This gives you enough range to discuss the issue, although several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural and sometimes make the meaning less precise. Examples include “availability of the pure water to the human,” “put their body requirements on stack,” and “take their eyes of from this issue.” There are also spelling errors, such as “normallize,” “Hepatits,” and “misues.” Aim for natural combinations and precise wording rather than translating expressions directly; proofreading spelling and word forms would make your argument clearer and more fluent.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt both simple and complex sentences, including a concession in “Though, the misuse of the water also leading to this problem” and a contrast in “rather they should provide proper water facilities.” The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but some errors in sentence structure, verb forms, agreement, and articles reduce accuracy. For instance, “which has became the cause” uses an incorrect verb form, while “they often deals” has a subject–verb agreement error. “The complications become more worse” also has an incorrect comparative construction. Some long sentences, particularly the opening and the final sentence, contain several ideas that are difficult to control. Practise building accurate complex sentences and check each clause for a clear subject and correctly formed verb.
