Student answer (Band 6.0)
Clean drinking water is a human need as water makes 70% of human body, therefore a basic human right. Water pollution is a rising issue around the world. I certainly agree that a clean water supply to every home is the least a government to do for its citizens. Water filtration is one measure that a government can take to ensure water's cleanliness.
People get a number of diseases due to drinking polluted water. Water is mostly contaminated with sewarage water and industrial waste, drinking it can cause serious health problems. In many countries, water supply is not provided by the government and people have to manage either by boring water from under the land, or by using water from river or streams. Both of these measure have their own drawbacks. Former is more costly and comes with a risk of land water level even going lower from the bore depth. The case with free water from rivers and streams comes with a risk of getting bacterial or viral diseases. For instancde, hepatitis A is spread by a bacteria mostly found n sewarage contaminated water.
Measures can be taken by the government to Ensure cleanliness of water. Water filtration plants can be an effective way to do this. A supply line can be provided to every home in a community. Water being a basic human need for survival should be free. People should not be charged for clean water. Government taxes can be utilized this way. For example, A goverment can pay for the employees that will maintainence of filtration unit.
To summarise, people should be provided free drinkable water by their goverment. Certain measures can be taken to ensure the water quality. Its supply and providance can also be monitored by goverment employees.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you agree that governments should provide clean water to every home without charge, and the conclusion restates this view. You give relevant reasons, including health risks from contaminated water and the role of filtration plants, and the examples of river water and hepatitis A help illustrate the issue. However, some points are less fully explained than others. For instance, the claim that water should be free is asserted, but the essay does not consider how governments would fund or manage universal provision beyond a brief reference to taxes. The discussion of bore water and falling water levels is also not clearly connected to the central question of free household supply. Develop these links and support the main arguments more fully.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs, and a conclusion. The progression from health risks to government measures is generally logical, and signposts such as “For example” and “To summarise” help readers follow the argument. However, some connections between ideas are abrupt or unclear. The sentence about bore water and declining water levels, for example, is not explicitly tied back to why a free public supply is preferable. In “Former is more costly,” the reference is not fully clear, and the long sentence beginning “Water is mostly contaminated…” joins two complete ideas with only a comma. Use clearer referencing and vary linking methods so the argument flows less mechanically.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water pollution,” “industrial waste,” “water filtration plants,” and “bacterial or viral diseases,” which allows you to discuss the issue clearly. There are also attempts at more specific language, such as “contaminated” and “supply line.” However, several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision: “boring water from under the land” is not the natural expression for obtaining groundwater, while “water’s cleanliness” and “free drinkable water” are awkward in this context. Errors such as “sewarage,” “instancde,” and “goverment” are noticeable. Build a more accurate range of water-related collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; this would make the argument sound more natural and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some attempts at complex structures, including “People get a number of diseases due to drinking polluted water” and “Water being a basic human need for survival should be free.” The main ideas are usually understandable, but some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “Water is mostly contaminated with sewarage water and industrial waste, drinking it can cause…” incorrectly joins two independent clauses, and “a government can pay for the employees that will maintainence of filtration unit” has an incomplete verb structure. There are also issues with articles and agreement, as in “Both of these measure.” Practise forming complex sentences accurately, especially clauses with “which” or “because,” and check sentence boundaries, articles, and plural forms.
