Student answer (Band 5.5)
Safe drinking water is a basic human right that's why it should be accesible for free of cost to everyone.
I strongly agree to this idea because clean water and sanitation can reduce water boone diseases it can imporve health, save healthcare costs and improve sustainbility.
In the contempory society clean water accesibility is a serious environemental problem which causes various water boone diseases. Dirty water specially in slum area is home to dangerous trasmitable virus and bacteria that results to disease like fever, and skin related infection.By providing clean water those disease can be control for example ,viral and bacterial diseases can be control if household have acess of clean water either for drinking or cooking purpose. Another key factor is that overall heath can be improve becuase our body need clean water to digest food or to stay hydrated, For example there are hundreds of disease which caused by dehydration mainly kidney problems.
Government should spend more money on providing clean and free water supply because it saves healthcare investement and improve sustainbility can be improve because clean water and snition is one of the main goal od sustabnible delevlopemnt strategies. We have plenty of communites who are valnerable to this environmental issue by attempting this strategy it can saves upto 1000 of lives.
To conclude , clean water shhould be consider as a basic human right and public must have free acess of it because it can benift in the long run by reducing healthcare cost and diseases spread by this issue .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the opening and conclusion: you strongly support free household water, and you give relevant reasons involving disease prevention, health, healthcare costs and sustainability. This addresses the main question and shows the beginnings of a well-supported argument. However, the reasons are not developed evenly. The discussion of waterborne illness includes an example, but the point about healthcare savings is asserted rather than explained, and the sustainability claim is difficult to follow. The reference to sustainable development goals could be connected more directly to why water should be free to households. To strengthen the response, explain how free provision would work and support each main reason with a clearer example or chain of reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The ideas generally progress from health risks to wider public benefits, and phrases such as “Another key factor” and “To conclude” help signal this movement. However, connections within paragraphs are sometimes unclear, particularly where the discussion shifts from disease prevention to dehydration and then to government spending. Some linking phrases feel mechanical, and references such as “this issue” and “this strategy” do not always identify their subject precisely. Improve cohesion by giving each body paragraph one central point, ordering its explanation and example clearly, and using pronouns only when their reference is unmistakable.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You attempt relevant topic vocabulary, including “sanitation,” “dehydration,” “healthcare costs” and “sustainable development,” which helps communicate the subject. However, the range and control are limited by frequent spelling errors and inaccurate word forms or collocations, such as “water boone diseases,” “accesible,” “transmitable virus,” and “improve sustainbility.” These errors sometimes make the reader pause, even though the general meaning is usually recoverable. Some wording is also imprecise, for example “home to dangerous … virus and bacteria” and “healthcare investement.” Build accuracy by checking spelling and choosing standard combinations such as “waterborne diseases,” “access to clean water,” and “reduce healthcare expenditure.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You use both simple statements and attempts at longer sentences, including a reason clause beginning “because” and an example introduced with “For example.” This gives the response some structural variety, but control is inconsistent: several complex sentences are difficult to follow, and errors in verb forms, agreement, articles and sentence boundaries recur. For instance, “those disease can be control” and “overall heath can be improve” need correctly formed plural nouns and passive verbs; “if household have acess” also lacks a clear article and agreement. Punctuation is sometimes awkward, especially where clauses run together. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and passive forms, then divide long sentences so each contains a clear main clause.
