Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.5

You state a clear position at the start: “from my point of view yes,” and you keep returning to the idea that clean water is a basic need and that the government should provide it. These points are relevant to the question. However, the response addresses the issue only minimally: it does not explain why water should be free, consider how this could be funded, or support its claims with a specific example. The phrase “so that way we can clean our body” does not clearly explain the wider benefits of a household water supply. The response is also 102 words below the required minimum, leaving too little space to develop your argument. Add distinct reasons and explain each with an example or consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 3.5

There is a recognisable central line of thought: you begin with your opinion, mention the government’s role, and repeat that water is a basic need. However, the ideas are presented as one long sequence rather than organised into paragraphs, so the reader cannot easily distinguish your reasons or follow a developed argument. Connectors such as “on the other hand” and “so that way” are attempted, but “on the other hand” introduces no contrasting view, and repeated use of “or” makes the relationships between ideas unclear. To improve, use a short introduction, separate body paragraphs for separate reasons, and a conclusion. Choose linking expressions that accurately show whether you are adding a point, giving a result, or presenting a contrast.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

Your vocabulary communicates the main topic through repeated phrases such as “clean water,” “basic need,” and “government,” so the reader can identify your subject. There are also attempts at topic-related wording, including “purify water” and “filtered water.” However, the range is basic and highly repetitive: “our lives” and “water is the basic need” recur without adding precision. Several word choices or spellings are inaccurate, including “nessity,” “fliterated,” and “accourdingly,” while “clean our body” is an unnatural expression in this context. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases, such as “safe drinking water,” “household water supply,” and “public provision,” and use them selectively. Check spelling and collocations so that your meaning is expressed more naturally.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You communicate a basic opinion and make attempts to connect clauses, for example in “govt should provide us a clean water … we can use in our lives.” However, most of the response relies on long, loosely joined sentence strings, with little control of sentence boundaries or punctuation. There are also recurring errors in grammatical forms, such as “to drink clean water is the nessity” and “govt should provide us a clean water,” where the infinitive construction and article use are not controlled. The repeated clauses make it difficult to see how each point relates to the next. Practise writing short, complete sentences first, then combine ideas using accurate conjunctions. For example: “Clean water is essential for health. Therefore, the government should ensure that every household has access to it.”
