Student answer (Band 5.5)

The assertion that water should be provided free of cost in every households as it is a basic mankind right to get access to clean water. Although there are valid argument on both sides. I strongly agree with the statement owing to its primary factors natural resources and affordable to whole humankind.

The foremost argument underpinning my opinion is that water is a natural resource on which nature had never impose any tax. For instance, transparent liquid which is a basic requirement of every individual provided by nature as a gift without any charges and taxes no one have any right to impose any charge on it as no one have any personal right on the water. Therefore, it is necessary to suppy water to each home without any taxation as everyone have equal right on the things which were provided by nature.

The another compelling reason in favour of this view point is that if clean water is not provided to individuals free of cost then rich people would have to spent money on water purifiers which will make country economically poor. Furthermore, the people living in remote areas who donot have enough money to buy clean water their are more chances that they will drink hard water with too much impurities in it which culminate to heath related diseases and it could be more severe such as cancer. Hence, it is necessary to supply water to whole population free of cost.

In conclusion, after considering the point that it can lead to heath disorders and as it is provided by nature so everyone have equal right on water i am completely agreed that clean water should be provided free of cost at every home.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction—“I strongly agree”—and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give two relevant reasons: water is a natural resource, and charging for it could leave poorer or remote communities without safe drinking water. The example of people drinking contaminated water also supports the health argument. This addresses the question, but some ideas are not fully developed. In particular, the claim that charging for water would make a country “economically poor” is unclear and is not explained or supported. The argument about nature providing water also needs to distinguish access to water from the costs of treating and delivering it. Develop these points with clearer reasoning and a specific example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. Signposting such as “The foremost argument” and “The another compelling reason” helps readers follow the structure, and “Furthermore” introduces an additional point. However, some linking is mechanical, and the relationship between ideas is occasionally unclear. For example, the claim that free water would prevent a country becoming economically poor does not clearly follow from the mention of water purifiers. The long sentence beginning “Furthermore, the people living in remote areas” also combines several points without clear boundaries. Use more precise referencing and divide complex explanations into shorter, logically connected sentences.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “natural resource,” “remote areas,” “impurities,” and “health-related diseases,” and you attempt some less common expressions such as “underpinning my opinion.” However, inaccurate word choice, collocation, and spelling are noticeable and sometimes make the meaning less clear. Examples include “basic mankind right,” “transparent liquid,” “hard water” where you appear to mean unsafe or contaminated water, and “culminate to” in the health claim. There are also spelling errors such as “suppy,” “donot,” and “heath.” Aim for precise, natural phrases and check spelling; this will make your argument clearer while preserving the relevant topic vocabulary you already use.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if clean water is not provided … then rich people would have to…” and a relative clause in “water is a natural resource on which…”. However, grammatical errors occur across the response and sometimes make sentences difficult to follow. The opening is a sentence fragment, while “there are valid argument” and “everyone have equal right” show problems with agreement and articles. Verb forms are also inaccurate in “nature had never impose” and “would have to spent.” Some sentences are overloaded, particularly the one about remote communities and disease, and punctuation does not always separate complete ideas clearly. Practise accurate sentence patterns and proofread agreement, verb forms, and sentence boundaries.
