Student answer (Band 6.0)
Access to fresh water is essential for human health, and some people think that household should have fresh water free of charger. I completely agree with the view because clean water can give us healthy life and free water can help low-income families.
There are several reasons why clean water should be provided free of charge. The main reason is that is essential for maintaining good health. People need fresh water for their daily uses like cooking, washing dishes, and personal hygiene. If water is expensive poor families cannot effort it because they are already bearing the cost of house rent, foods and other bills and this will create another pressure for them. For example, they might drink contaminated water this may cause disease like E. coli. This is why free fresh water can help lower-income families.
Another important reason is free water remove the burden on low-income people. Many people in developing counties cannot effort food fresh drinkable water. By providing amount of water free of charge poor people can consume fresh water not only that but they will stay healthy. But some people waste water everyday, government should excessive charge to those people who waste water. One the other hand government project like delivery fresh water also create employment for other people.
In conclusion, I completely agree that every household should have access for free fresh water because it will protect you from harmful diseases and support families like who are not financially fortune. However, people should use natural resources carefully.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and remains consistent in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons: clean water supports health, and free provision would help low-income households. The example of contaminated water causing E. coli also supports the health argument. This meets the task well, but the two main points overlap, and some claims are not fully explained. For instance, the employment point about water-delivery projects is introduced without showing how it supports free household water. The suggestion to charge people who waste water also needs clearer connection to your position. To strengthen the response, develop each reason with a more precise explanation and a relevant example, while clarifying how free access could be balanced with discouraging waste.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The main ideas are generally easy to follow, and signposts such as “The main reason,” “Another important reason” and “In conclusion” help guide the reader. However, progression within the second body paragraph is less controlled: the discussion moves from affordability to free provision, then water waste and employment, without clearly linking these points. Some connections are also awkward or unclear, such as “not only that but they will stay healthy.” Use fewer formulaic transitions and make the relationship between each supporting point explicit. A clearer sequence—claim, explanation, example—would make the argument more cohesive.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “contaminated water,” “personal hygiene,” “low-income families” and “harmful diseases,” so the reader can understand the main argument. However, the range and control are limited by repeated use of “fresh water” and “free water,” as well as noticeable word-choice, spelling and collocation errors. Examples include “free of charger,” “cannot effort it,” “developing counties” and “financially fortune.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less clear, even though the overall message remains understandable. Build a more precise set of expressions for water access and affordability, and check spelling and word forms carefully. Vary repeated terms with accurate alternatives such as “safe drinking water” and “water supply.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including conditional reasoning (“If water is expensive…”) and a relative clause (“people who waste water”). The overall meaning is usually recoverable, but errors in sentence structure and grammatical forms are frequent enough to affect clarity. For example, “the main reason is that is essential” is missing a subject, while “free water remove the burden” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. The sentence beginning “For example, they might drink contaminated water” joins two independent ideas without suitable punctuation or a conjunction. There are also problems with articles, plurals and prepositions, as in “every household should have access for free fresh water.” Practise checking each sentence for a clear subject and verb, then review agreement and clause boundaries.
