Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 3.0

You introduce the topic and state a position with “I partially agree,” so the reader can see your general response. You also mention household uses of water and its role in keeping people hydrated. However, the response does not explain which part of the proposal you agree with or why, and the final sentence, “There are several reason that may cost to government,” is unfinished and does not develop an argument. There are no relevant examples or supporting explanations, so the task is addressed only partially. The response is 83 words, below the required 250 words; this leaves too little space to develop your position. Explain your reasons, consider costs or access, and support each point with an example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

The response has a basic progression: it introduces the issue, gives a position, and then mentions daily water use. The opening phrase “As we see” also signals a move into the discussion. However, the ideas are not developed into clear paragraphs, and the connection between household consumption, hydration, and the government’s costs is not explained. The unfinished final sentence interrupts the progression, while “Although” introduces a contrast that is not completed. To improve, organise the essay into an introduction, separate body paragraphs for your reasons, and a conclusion. Use linking expressions to show how each point supports your partial agreement, rather than leaving relationships between ideas implicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 4.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary such as “clean water,” “household work,” “consuming,” and “government,” which helps establish the subject. There is also an attempt to express a general idea through “on a daily basis.” However, the range is limited in this short response, and several word forms, spellings, or collocations are inaccurate: “fullfill,” “stay hydrate,” “billions gallons,” and “free of charges.” These errors sometimes make the intended meaning less natural or precise. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing public services, costs, and access, and check spelling and word forms. For example, use “stay hydrated” and “billions of gallons”; choose expressions that fit the meaning rather than translating directly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You attempt both simple statements and a more complex sentence beginning “Although,” showing some effort to vary sentence structure. The meaning of the main position is understandable. However, grammatical control is inconsistent: the opening runs several clauses together without punctuation, and “There is an argument that clean water is a basic human right there for…” needs clearer clause separation. The sentence beginning “Although” is incomplete, and the final sentence also lacks a complete structure. There are errors in articles, agreement, and sentence construction, as in “Water is basic necessity” and “There are several reason.” Practise writing complete sentences with clear subjects and verbs, then check articles, plural forms, and punctuation before submitting.
