Student answer (Band 6.0)
Nowadays many health issues arise due to the lack of clean drinking water for public. It is important that all people should have access to the pure water and it should be provided with zero cast. I strongly agree with this opinion and here I am going to explain the reasons for it.
To begin with, all life on planet is dependent on water for survival as our bodies are made up of 70% of the water. It is one of the basic needs of the man and it is the responsibility of the government to provide access to the suitable sources of drinkable water without any fee.
Costing a water charge will led people to use unhygienic water as many people in our country lie below the poverty line. They live on hand to mouth and have minimum sources to meet the basic life requirements. In this case where poverty is dominant, people will definitely move to the cheaper sources despite the fact that they may be contaminated.
Secondly, when people are not provided with easily accessible water facility , they will consume filthy water which in turn will make them sick and thus these people will be a continuous burden on the health department. Constant emergencies can arise as people with gut issues move to the hospitals thus preventing the patients who suffer from some serious illnesses being treated.
So to prevent these kind of problems it is necessary for authorities to provide people with healthy sources of pure water because it is their basic right and to preserve the health department for the people who actually need it.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction: you strongly agree that water should be provided without charge, and the response stays focused on access to safe drinking water. You give relevant reasons, including the risk that poorer households may turn to contaminated sources and the possible pressure this creates for hospitals. These points address the task, but they are not equally developed: the claim about water charges could be supported with a specific example or clearer explanation of how free household supply would be funded and managed. The opening also refers to water as a basic need, but the argument would be more complete if it directly considered whether every home should receive all its water free, rather than focusing mainly on the dangers of unsafe water.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two reason-focused paragraphs, and a concluding recommendation. Sequencing phrases such as “To begin with” and “Secondly” help readers follow the main points, and the progression from poverty and unsafe water to health-service pressure is logical. However, the linking is somewhat mechanical, and the second reason partly repeats the first by again describing people consuming unsafe water. Some connections could be made more explicit—for example, explain how free provision would prevent the hospital burden described. The final sentence combines the recommendation with two separate justifications, making the conclusion less controlled. Clearer paragraph focus and more varied, precise transitions would strengthen the flow.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “contaminated,” “poverty line,” “basic needs,” and “health department,” which makes the central argument understandable. There are also attempts at less common expressions, but some choices are inaccurate or unnatural: “zero cast” appears to mean “no cost,” “lie below the poverty line” should be “live below,” and “sources of drinkable water” is less natural than “sources of safe drinking water.” “Hand to mouth” is also used awkwardly in this context. These slips do not prevent understanding, but they limit precision and naturalness. Aim for accurate collocations and formal phrasing, especially when discussing public services and water access.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including a conditional structure in “despite the fact that they may be contaminated” and a cause-and-effect sentence about illness and hospital pressure. The main ideas remain understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. For example, “Costing a water charge will led” has an incorrect verb form, while “all life on planet” and “the basic needs of the man” have article or noun-phrase problems. In “preventing the patients who suffer from some serious illnesses being treated,” the structure is difficult to follow. There are also punctuation and spacing slips, such as the space before the comma in “facility ,”. Check verb forms, articles, and sentence construction carefully to make the complex ideas clearer.
