Student answer (Band 5.0)

The issue of clean water has become increasingly important in recent years. While some people belive that a water supply that is provided free of charge, others argue that that is not good for people. This essay will discuss both perspective and present my own view.

Firstly, it is clear that every home need a water supply that is provided free of charge. This is because water is need for human. Poor peoples can not afford to pay on water. Also clean water is also good for everyone. People sick and died because of dirty water. Like air is free same we need to water free of cost. For example, a recent article has been published in "New York times" which states that 80 percent of people believes that clean and free of cost water need every home. Therefore, it is evident that every home need free of cost water supply.

On the other hand, many people belives that every home don't need to free water supply. The main reason for this is if water free of cost then people will waste it because it is no value of. A good illustration of this can be seen in young children are suffering from autism. If government supply every home free water it's too expensive and pressure on government. Thus providing clean water it needs pipes, machines and it is expensive

In conclusion, it can be said that, although both views have merit, I belive that water is a basic human right. Therefor everevery home need a clean water supply that is provided free of cost. Ultimately, clean water is essential for the future.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0

You address the question and state a clear view in the conclusion: clean water is a basic right and homes should receive it free. You also introduce an opposing concern about waste and government expense. However, the response only partially develops the task: the reasons are mostly asserted rather than explained, and the example about children with autism does not clearly support the point about water being wasted. The claim about an article reporting that 80 percent agree is also not explained or connected to a specific argument. Develop each main reason with a clear explanation and a relevant example, and make your position consistent throughout rather than presenting the essay mainly as a discussion of both views. The stated length requirement is met; 18 words copied from the prompt were not counted.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting contrasting views, and a conclusion. Linking phrases such as “Firstly,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” help signal these stages. However, progression within paragraphs is uneven: the first body paragraph moves from affordability to health, then to air and an unsupported statistic without showing how the points connect. In the second paragraph, the autism example interrupts the argument about waste and cost. Some transitions are also mechanical, and the conclusion repeats the central claim rather than drawing together the reasoning. Group related points, use clear references to connect sentences, and ensure each example directly supports its paragraph’s main idea.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use enough basic vocabulary to communicate the central topic, including “clean water,” “human right,” “government,” and “expensive.” There are also attempts at topic-related phrasing such as “water supply” and “dirty water.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are repeated, especially “free of cost” and “every home need.” Some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unclear, including “there is no value of” and “people sick and died,” which make parts of the argument harder to understand. Spelling errors such as “belive,” “belives,” and “Therefor” are noticeable. Build a wider set of accurate phrases for discussing access, affordability, conservation, and public costs, and check spelling and natural word combinations.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a few longer structures, including “While some people believe…, others argue…” and the conditional idea “if water free of cost then people will waste it.” Most sentences, however, rely on simple patterns, and attempts at complex sentences are often faulty. Errors in agreement and verb forms occur in “every home need,” “water is need,” and “people believes.” Other problems include missing or repeated words in “that that is not good” and “every home don't need to free water supply,” as well as punctuation spacing and sentence boundaries. These errors sometimes make the intended meaning difficult to follow. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement, articles, and complete conditional sentences, then proofread each sentence for a clear grammatical structure.
