Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly agree that clean water should be free, and you keep the discussion focused on access in Bangladesh, especially for poorer residents of Dhaka. The examples of public water points and government investment give the response some relevant support. However, the argument is only partly developed: several points repeat the need for water without explaining how free household supply would be funded or why it should apply to every home. The discussion also shifts between free household connections and free public water points, so the proposal is not fully clear. To strengthen the response, explain one or two reasons in more depth and connect each example directly to the claim that every home should receive water free of charge.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0
The response has an introduction, several body paragraphs and a conclusion, and the reader can follow its general focus on water access in Bangladesh. However, progression between ideas is limited, and the paragraphs do not consistently develop distinct points. For example, the discussion moves from Dhaka’s population to water quality, then to taxes and public water points, without clear links showing how these ideas support one another. Connectors such as “In that time” and “In that day” are unclear, while repeated references to “every” and “free” make the writing feel repetitive. Organise the body around separate reasons, such as affordability and public responsibility, and use clear transitions and references to show how each point follows from the previous one.
Lexical Resource: Band 4.5
You use a basic range of topic-related vocabulary, including “clean water,” “water supply,” “poor people,” “government” and “human basic need,” so the main subject is recognisable. However, vocabulary is repetitive and many word choices or spellings make meaning difficult to follow. Phrases such as “huge of impact,” “water rechorce board,” and “every were increasely work” are unclear or inaccurate, and “basic need” is repeated rather than varied. Build a more reliable set of expressions for this topic, such as “access to safe drinking water,” “water infrastructure,” and “low-income households.” Check spelling and learn common word partnerships so that your ideas can be expressed more precisely.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5
You attempt to communicate several connected ideas and use some longer sentence forms, including sentences beginning with “because” and “while.” However, sentence structures are limited and errors are frequent, sometimes making relationships between ideas hard to understand. For example, “Every country people acess to clean water a basic human right” lacks a clear grammatical structure, while “In Dhaka city water are not clean so there huge of impact” has problems with sentence formation and subject–verb agreement. Articles, plurals and verb forms are also often inaccurate, and punctuation is inconsistent, with many sentences joined by commas. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using conjunctions; check that each sentence has a subject and a correctly formed verb.
