Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You take a position in favour of free access to clean water, and you recognise that water is essential for daily activities such as cooking and washing. However, the response only minimally addresses the question because much of the discussion shifts to the costs of treating and supplying water, and you conclude that households should pay the bill. This leaves your position unclear: it is not explained whether you support free water despite these costs or oppose the proposal. The points about filtration, pipes and labour are relevant, but they are listed rather than developed with reasons or a specific example. The response is also 120 words below the required minimum, so there is not enough explanation to address the task fully. State your position consistently and develop it with clear supporting reasons.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.0

There is a basic sequence: you introduce the importance of water, explain its role in daily life, then discuss the costs of supplying it and mention filtration. This gives the reader some sense of the topic’s progression. However, the ideas are not arranged into clear paragraphs, and the relationship between your opening agreement and the later claim that people must pay is difficult to follow. The transition “but” signals contrast, but the contrast is not explained; “that why” also does not clearly connect the costs to your conclusion. Organise the response into an introduction, separate body paragraphs and a conclusion, with each paragraph focused on one main point. Use linking phrases to show how each reason supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use basic vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “basic human right,” “water supply,” “power,” “pipe” and “filtering.” These terms make the general subject understandable, and “drinkable” is a useful, precise choice. However, the range is limited and some wording is inaccurate or unclear, such as “the machine needs power,” “pipe server,” and “other martial.” There are also frequent spelling errors, including “fltering,” “rigth,” “Geting,” “undergound,” “waork” and “eneger,” which can make the reader pause. Build a more accurate topic vocabulary and check spelling carefully. For example, distinguish water treatment from the equipment used for it, and use precise terms such as “water-treatment facilities,” “maintenance” and “operating costs.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your response mainly uses short, simple statements, such as “the water is a basic human rigth” and “Water fliting undergo seven different layers.” You also attempt a longer structure with “because without water we can cook, wash, clean,” showing an effort to explain a reason. However, the range remains limited, and errors in sentence construction and punctuation are frequent. The opening comma in “I do agree, that” is unnecessary, and the next sentence begins with lowercase “but.” In “without water we can cook,” the clause needs clearer punctuation, while “that why we have to pay” lacks the verb “is.” Practise accurate sentence boundaries and basic clause patterns first, then add controlled complex sentences using “because,” “although” and “therefore.”
