Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You take a position in favour of free water, beginning with “Yes” and stating that every home should receive a free supply. You also introduce a relevant point about the limited proportion of freshwater and the need to conserve it. However, the response addresses the question only minimally: it does not explain why household water should be free, consider costs or practical consequences, or develop a supporting example. The conservation point is not clearly connected to whether the supply should be free, and the position is not sustained with reasons. The response is also substantially below the required minimum length, leaving the task’s main ideas undeveloped. To improve, state your position clearly and support it with two explained reasons and a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 4.5

There is a basic sequence from your agreement, to a reference to the WHO, and then to the amount of freshwater and conservation. This gives the reader some sense of the topic’s direction. However, the ideas are compressed into one paragraph and do not form a clear progression: the WHO reference is not explained, and the shift from free water to saving water is abrupt. Linking expressions such as “therefore” and “but” appear, but they do not establish the relationships between the points clearly. Use separate paragraphs for your position, supporting reasons, and conclusion, and connect each idea explicitly—for example, explain how limited freshwater relates to responsible provision and conservation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water,” “fresh,” “saltly water,” and “save water,” so the subject is generally recognisable. However, the range is limited and several word choices or spellings make the message difficult to follow, such as “vaiable,” “suppier,” and “not able drink.” Some phrases are also unnatural, including “access of clean to water” and “taps water.” These errors fit a response with basic, repetitive vocabulary and can cause difficulty for the reader. Build a small set of accurate topic phrases and check spelling and collocation; for instance, use “access to clean water,” “freshwater,” and “tap water.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

The response attempts a few sentence forms, including a statement of opinion and a contrast introduced by “but.” However, most sentences are short or incomplete, and grammatical errors frequently interrupt the message. Examples include “every home should have a suppier which provide,” where the verb does not agree with its subject, and “97% is saltly water which not able drink,” which lacks the grammatical structure needed to express the idea clearly. Articles and sentence boundaries are also unreliable, as in “Yes , it is Right of every human.” Practise complete subject–verb–object sentences first, then combine related ideas with accurate clauses and punctuation.
