Student answer (Band 5.0)
Access to clean water is a basic human right. Therefore every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge. I partly agree with this statement.
Frist of all, we talk about the problems of having free supply of water in every home. We know that water covers the 77% of the World area but only 2% of it is the fresh water. The second problem is Global warming. As we know that through Global warming the glaciers of fresh water melt into the oceans. From which the fresh water decreases rapidly. On the other hand, the each individual in the world which has the access of fresh water wastes 16 thousand liters per year.
Beside this if we talk about the advantages. In our country people buy fresh water. By giving them a free supply of water the cost of living is improved. In some countries of the World individuals are only depend on well water or they can travel 4-5 kilometers to get fresh water. If every home have a water supply of clean water than people lives the guilty life.
In my opinion, No doubt the clean water is a basic human need but every individual who lives on this planet should never waste the water. Beside this it also help to maintain the quilty life.
In conclusion, If the individuals never waste a single drop of water than every home should have a water supply free of cost.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.0
You give a relevant response and state a partly agreeing position, then consider both water scarcity and the benefits of household access. The examples about people relying on wells or travelling several kilometres are pertinent. However, the position becomes unclear: the conclusion says homes should receive free water only if people do not waste it, which is not fully explained as a policy. Several claims, such as the amount of water wasted per person, are presented without explanation, and the reasons for charging or providing water free are not developed enough. The response is also below the required 250 words: 23 words copied from the prompt are excluded from the count. Develop your reasoning and clarify exactly what should be free, and for whom.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. You also use signposts such as “First of all,” “On the other hand,” and “In conclusion” to indicate shifts in the discussion. However, progression between ideas is not always clear. The first body paragraph moves from the proportion of fresh water to global warming and then to individual waste without explaining how each point supports your position. “Beside this if we talk about the advantages” is a mechanical transition, and the final paragraph largely repeats earlier points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer links between each reason and your view, and organise each paragraph around one main point with supporting explanation.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “fresh water,” “global warming,” “glaciers,” “supply,” and “cost of living,” so the reader can follow the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or collocations are inaccurate, sometimes making meaning difficult to interpret. For example, “people lives the guilty life” does not clearly express the intended benefit, while “maintain the quilty life” appears to mean maintaining quality of life. There are also spelling errors such as “Frist” and “quilty,” and repeated use of “water” and “individual.” Build a more precise range for discussing access, affordability and conservation, and check spelling and collocations carefully.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including a conditional in “If the individuals never waste a single drop of water…” and a contrast introduced by “On the other hand.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence structure, agreement, articles and verb forms. Examples include “the each individual,” “every home have,” and “it also help”; these should use correct determiner, subject–verb agreement and verb forms. The sentence beginning “From which the fresh water decreases rapidly” is a fragment, and “individuals are only depend” has an incorrect verb construction. These errors sometimes make relationships between ideas hard to follow. Practise accurate complete sentences before adding more complex structures.
