Student answer (Band 6.0)
Humans have the right to have access a basic resource, clean water. Every household should have the facility of the free of cost water supply. I disagree with this statement because the supplied clean water requires various treatment process and some people may waste water without charges being applied.
Water is a natural resource in the enviroment. Water is used in all aspects of life. However, waters from different sources are not safe to consume. Waters need to processed and different guidelines are maintained to ensure the water is free from microbes and drinkable. There are a wide range of designated places in the country for wastewater treatment to process clean water. For example, WASA in every city supply clean water to everyday use. But these treatments require many instruments and process. If any charge is not applied for supplying clean water, it will be difficult to deal with all the treatment process.
Government has provided facilities to supply water to people and households for regular usage. Another evident reason is people will lose track how much water is being wasted. This is results in shortage of clear water for human cosumption. For instance, some people will use water recklessly by keeping the tap open all the time as they do not have to pay for it. Moreover, they will use excessive water in cleaning purpose. If they have to pay charge for this, they will use the water carefully when they need it. Because the bill will be issued based on their usage.
To conclude, my opinion does not align with the statement that clean water supply should be provided without charge involved as it is a basic human right. Because the supply of clean water undergoes multiple process that requires charges and people will not be careful regarding the consumption of water on a daily basis.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction: you disagree with free household water, and you give two relevant reasons—treatment costs and the risk of waste. The examples about water-treatment facilities and leaving taps running help connect these reasons to the question. However, the discussion does not fully explore the tension between water as a basic right and charging for its supply. In particular, the treatment-cost argument would be stronger if you distinguished essential access to a basic amount of clean water from charging for higher consumption. The point about government-provided facilities is also mentioned but not developed. Explain how charges could be affordable or protect access for low-income households, and support each main idea with more precise reasoning.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your position. Paragraphing is appropriate, and signposts such as “However,” “For example,” and “Moreover” help readers follow the argument. Some connections are less smooth or precise, though. “Another evident reason” does not clearly signal the shift from treatment costs to water conservation, while “Because the bill will be issued based on their usage” is a fragment and feels detached from the preceding sentence. The conclusion repeats the main points rather than drawing them together. Use clearer links between claims and explanations, and vary referencing so that repeated phrases such as “clean water” and “water” do not make the progression feel mechanical.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “treatment,” “wastewater,” “microbes,” “shortage,” and “consumption,” which allows you to discuss the issue clearly. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “does not align with the statement.” However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or unnatural, including “facility of the free of cost water supply,” “different guidelines are maintained,” and “clean water to everyday use.” Spelling errors such as “enviroment” and “cosumption” also reduce accuracy. Build a more reliable set of natural collocations for this topic—for example, “provide a water supply,” “treat water to make it safe to drink,” and “charge households for consumption”—and check spelling during revision.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including contrast clauses with “However” and conditional reasoning with “If they have to pay.” Most of the argument remains understandable, but some grammatical errors recur. Examples include “access a basic resource” (missing “to”), “Water need to processed” (missing “be”), and “This is results in” (incorrect verb construction). There are also problems with agreement and sentence boundaries, as in “WASA in every city supply,” and the final “Because” clause is not a complete sentence. Practise accurate verb patterns, subject–verb agreement, and complete sentence construction. Proofreading for these patterns would make your varied sentence forms more controlled and easier to read.
