Student answer (Band 5.5)
availability of pure water is vital human need. i strongly agree with this. there are problems associated with free water supply is many water borne diseases and many peole die everyday and the solution is government should take some initiative to solve this issue.
when people drink pure and clean water it protect them for many water born diseases. in our country there are many remote areas where people can not access many basic facilities. there are many health problems associated with water. companies provide water and people cant afford to drink and many people die becuse of unavailabilty of free water. people dont have any resources to bring water from cities and water supply should be free for every home.
another reason is lack of free water facility people forced to drink water with many contagious germs. and many diseases spread. according to suryey last year [redacted phone] people die beacuse of this problem. for example a well know water born disease cholera which is spread from person to person. in this matter should take intiatives to provide free water supply for people who cant afford. and it altimately effect the economy of country.
in conclusion free water supply is basic human need and many people cant bear cost of pure drinking water. should should provide some awareness compaigns to educate people and work on some projects to solve this issue in some remote areas where people lost their lives everyday.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear from the opening: “I strongly agree,” and you give relevant reasons, including disease risks and the difficulty remote communities face in accessing water. However, the response only partly develops the task. It focuses mainly on health and affordability, with little explanation of what “free” provision would involve or how governments could fund and manage it. The claim that 100,000 people died is not clearly connected to a source or explained, and the cholera example is imprecise. The conclusion repeats the main view but introduces awareness campaigns without showing how they address the cost of supply. The response is also 9 words below the required minimum. Develop each reason with a clearer explanation and a specific, credible example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion. The paragraphs broadly group related points, and phrases such as “another reason” and “in conclusion” help signal movement between sections. However, progression within paragraphs is often difficult to follow because several claims are joined without clear explanation. For example, the second body paragraph moves from germs to a death statistic, then cholera, government initiatives and the economy. Some links are unclear, including how cholera is “spread from person to person” in support of the water-supply argument. Build each paragraph around one main point, explain its cause and effect, and use referencing and linking phrases more precisely rather than relying on formulaic transitions.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “water-borne diseases,” “remote areas,” “contagious germs” and “economy,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main concerns. There is also some attempt to use more specific language, such as “cholera” and “unavailability.” However, the range is limited and several spelling and word-choice errors reduce accuracy, including “peole,” “becuse,” “suryey,” and repeated forms such as “water born.” Some expressions are unnatural or imprecise, for example “bring water from cities” and “take some initiative.” Aim for accurate collocations and consistent spelling, and avoid repeating “free water” when a precise alternative such as “public water provision” would fit.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You communicate a basic position and attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, but the range of sentence structures is limited and errors are frequent enough to make parts of the response difficult to read. Examples include “when people drink pure and clean water it protect them,” where the subject and verb do not agree, and “there are problems associated with free water supply is many…,” which combines sentence patterns incorrectly. Articles and sentence boundaries are also often missing, as in “availability of pure water is vital human need.” The final sentence, “should should provide…,” lacks a clear subject and contains a repeated verb. Practise building accurate simple sentences first, then add subordinate clauses while checking subjects, verbs, articles and punctuation.
