Student answer (Band 5.5)

Access clean water is fundamental right of every human being . Therefore , every residents should get water supply without paying bills .I strongly disagree with this statement because , water is one of the planets resources and mitigating any kind of waste of resources its essential to intoduce rules and regulations .In addition paying bills for water supply will save planets from scarcity of water .

To begin with, natural resources are blessing for us .But most of the individuals are unaware of proper uses of nature gifts. Paying bills for natural properties will help us to save the planet . Over wasting of these resources can causes various natural disaster . Water sacrcity can causes drought which will directly affect to agriculture and cultivation as a result the whole planet will suffer from severe scarcity . A study in bangladesh shows that , 25% channels of rural ares has been destroyed for using these as dumpsite ,for these reason the catch is poor for fisher man .

On the other hand ,paying for supply of water will save the water for the future and also help the merin biodiversity . Most of the fish species are on the way of extinct because individuals are wasting the ponds channels and rivers water by dumping littesr, on the other hand In india they filling the channels , streams for iindustrialization which is concerning . . so wasting is one of the nature of the human beings to save natural resources implimenting charge is the best way .

In conclusion , public awarwness is the most crutial step to save our planet from all kind of scarcity , whilst government also playing a vital role by engaging rules and regulations also charges for saving our planet . So it is undoubtedly fair to pay charges for one percent usages of natual resources .

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you disagree with free household water and support charging for its use. You address the central issue and give relevant reasons, including reducing waste, protecting water supplies and limiting harm to aquatic life. The examples about Bangladesh’s waterways and industrialisation in India help make the discussion more specific. However, some points are not fully explained: the link between paying bills and preventing pollution or protecting biodiversity needs clearer reasoning, and the Bangladesh example is difficult to interpret. The conclusion introduces public awareness and government regulation but does not clearly distinguish these from your main argument about charges. Develop each reason with a direct explanation of how charging would help.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “On the other hand” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the broad direction. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to track. The second body paragraph moves from water charges to fish extinction, littering and industrialisation without clearly showing how each point supports the argument. Some linking phrases are repetitive or awkward, and the contrast signalled by “On the other hand” is not clearly established. Improve cohesion by grouping related ideas, using pronouns or repeated key terms clearly, and explaining the connection between each example and your claim.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You attempt a range of topic-related vocabulary, including “scarcity,” “agriculture,” “biodiversity,” “industrialization” and “regulations,” which helps convey the subject. There are also some less successful word choices and collocations that make parts of the argument hard to understand, such as “natural properties,” “the catch is poor” and “one percent usages.” Spelling errors, including “sacrcity,” “littesr” and “aw arwness,” are noticeable and can distract the reader. Aim for accurate, natural phrases such as “natural resources,” “fish catches have declined” and “a small charge for water use.” Proofreading spelling and checking collocations would make your vocabulary more effective and precise.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentences, including cause-and-effect structures such as “Water scarcity can causes drought which will directly affect to agriculture.” However, errors in sentence construction, agreement, articles and punctuation occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to process. For example, “every residents should get water supply” has problems with number and article use, while “Over wasting of these resources can causes” combines an awkward construction with incorrect verb agreement. Several sentences also run together or use commas where full stops are needed. Practise building accurate complex sentences with one clear main clause and a correctly formed subordinate clause, and check subject–verb agreement, articles and sentence boundaries during revision.
