Student answer (Band 5.0)
It is often argued whether fresh water is a basic human need therefore, every home should have water supply that is given without fee. I personally contend that clean water is a basic human right and it must be free of cost. In this essay, I will discuss my veiwpoint in the subsequent paragraghs.
Firstly, it is vital for human health and mind. To elaborate, if water that is supplied to homes of the citizens is unclean and filthy, it can cause serious health issues. For instance, under developed nations such as Africa, in this country there is some places where fresh water is available. The individuals of such countries face disease such as Dengue Fever and cholera which will be the reason of their death. Furthermore, filtered water also increase the imunity system and gut.
Secondly, it is crucial for maintain a healthy lifestyle. This is because human body is 70 percente made of water, if water is not clean to drink life is impossible. A prime example of this is that every year 1.4 million people die

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0
Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be free, and you give relevant reasons about health and survival. However, the response addresses the task only partially because the reasons are briefly stated and not fully explained; for example, the point about water supporting a healthy lifestyle ends before the example is completed. The discussion of disease also needs a clearer link to whether households should receive water without charge, rather than focusing only on water quality. The response is 179 words, below the required 250, which limits the opportunity to develop your argument. Extend each reason with explanation and a specific, accurate example, and address how free provision could be funded or managed.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction states your view, followed by paragraphs beginning “Firstly” and “Secondly.” These signposts help readers identify the two main reasons. However, the progression is incomplete because the second body paragraph stops mid-example, and there is no concluding paragraph to bring the argument together. Some links are also mechanical or unclear: “To elaborate” introduces an explanation, but the example that follows is difficult to interpret, while “Furthermore” adds a point without showing how it supports the main claim. Develop each paragraph through a clear point, explanation and example, then add a conclusion. Use referencing and linking phrases to show relationships between ideas, not simply to announce the next point.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use some relevant topic vocabulary, including “basic human right,” “filtered water,” “health issues” and “healthy lifestyle,” so the reader can follow the general subject. There are also attempts at more formal phrasing, such as “I personally contend” and “A prime example.” However, the range is limited, and several inaccurate or awkward choices reduce precision: “under developed nations such as Africa” is geographically inaccurate, and “increase the imunity system” is not a natural collocation. Spelling errors such as “veiwpoint,” “paragraghs” and “percente” are noticeable. Choose precise terms for countries and public health, check spelling, and learn common collocations such as “strengthen the immune system” and “provide water free of charge.”
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure in “if water that is supplied … is unclean … it can cause serious health issues” and a reason clause beginning “This is because.” These attempts show some range, but control is inconsistent, and errors sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. For example, “whether fresh water is a basic human need therefore” joins clauses incorrectly, and “it is crucial for maintain” uses an incorrect verb pattern. There are also agreement and sentence-boundary problems in “filtered water also increase” and “human body is 70 percente made of water, if water is not clean.” Practise joining clauses with appropriate punctuation and conjunctions, and check subject–verb agreement, articles and verb forms.
