Student answer (Band 5.5)
Access to clean water is a basic human right and every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge.
I strongly believed that statement, water is a basic need to every living creature on Earth. Even human body is made up of 76% of water and no one can survive without it.
The Government should take action to ensure the supply of water in homes and it should not be charged. people pay taxes and custom duties,In return atleast it is their right to atleast have a basic neccessity at home without being worry about to pay for its bills.
In order to provide this facility the water purifier plants should be installed in homes so that they can get clean water for drinking as well as in doing cooking and other house chores
For example In my Home a water purifier plant is installed and it is accessable to everyone people in my neighbour comes and fills their water bottles free of charge
But the problem arises when the Government charge for this services and adds heavy bills of water which is quite anxious for the people
Also we should limit our consumption of water as their is already only 2% of fresh water available on Earth and people waste it on daily basis while brushing their teeth or in doing kitchen work
To summarise this, I would strongly suggest to provide free supply of water to every home as it is basic need for everyone

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you strongly support free household water, and you give relevant reasons, including water’s importance to life, the burden of bills, and the need to conserve supplies. The example of neighbours using your home’s purifier adds personal support. However, several points are asserted rather than explained—for instance, the link between taxes and a right to free water, and how household purifier plants would ensure a public supply. The response also does not meet the 250-word minimum: it contains 229 words, and 22 words copied from the prompt were not counted. Develop your reasoning with a fuller explanation of how free provision could be funded and how conservation could be encouraged.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response follows a generally understandable order: it states your view, gives reasons and an example, raises water waste, and ends with a summary. Basic links such as “For example,” “But,” and “To summarise” help readers follow the discussion. However, the ideas are mostly presented as one continuous sequence rather than grouped into clear paragraphs, so the progression is not consistently easy to track. Some connections are also abrupt: the discussion moves from purifier plants to government bills, then to water conservation without explaining how these points relate. Use separate paragraphs for your main arguments and make the relationship between each point explicit, rather than relying mainly on simple linking phrases.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use enough topic-related vocabulary to communicate your main ideas, including “basic human right,” “water purifier,” “heavy bills,” and “consumption of water.” However, the range is limited and several expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “water purifier plants should be installed in homes,” “quite anxious for the people,” and “in doing kitchen work.” Spelling errors, including “neccessity” and “accessable,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and a wider range of language for discussing public services, affordability, and conservation. For example, describe the financial burden of water charges and explain how households could reduce unnecessary use.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
Your meaning is usually understandable, and you attempt some longer structures, such as “so that they can get clean water for drinking as well as in doing cooking and other house chores.” However, the range is limited, and errors occur frequently in sentence boundaries, verb forms, agreement, articles, and punctuation. For example, “I strongly believed that statement” does not maintain the appropriate tense, while “people pay taxes and custom duties,In return” has faulty punctuation and sentence connection. “Their is already only 2%” also contains an agreement error. Practise building accurate complex sentences with clear clauses, and check capitalisation and punctuation. More consistent control of basic sentence patterns would make your argument easier to read.
