Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.0

You state a clear position—“I disagree”—and give relevant reasons: the cost of supplying water and the risk of waste if it is free. You also suggest a limited free allowance for poorer households, which is a useful qualification. However, the response addresses the issue only minimally: the cost argument is difficult to follow, and the point about waste is not explained with an example or supporting detail. The response is also 132 words below the required minimum, leaving little space to develop your reasoning or address the implications of clean water as a basic right. Explain who should pay for infrastructure and how a free basic allowance could work, then support these points with a relevant example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

There is some basic organisation: you introduce your disagreement, give reasons in a following paragraph, and end with a proposed limit on free water. The ideas are broadly related to the question, and linking expressions such as “So that” and “Therefore” show an attempt to connect them. However, the progression is not consistently clear. For example, “the government improve tax collaction” is hard to connect to the claim that free supply is too costly, and the final sentence is not clearly linked to the earlier argument. Use one paragraph for costs and another for water conservation, with a clear topic sentence in each. Then use accurate links such as “Moreover” or “As a result” to show how each reason supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use a small set of relevant terms, including “human right,” “water supply,” “government,” and “waste water,” so the general topic is identifiable. There are also attempts to express more specific ideas, such as “limited portion” and “tax collection.” However, the vocabulary is limited and several word choices or spellings make meaning difficult to understand: “more costly,” “unrealastic project,” and “water tape” do not express the intended ideas naturally. Build a topic vocabulary for costs, infrastructure, affordability, and conservation, and check spelling and collocations. For example, “water pipeline constructed spend money” could be expressed as “building and maintaining water pipelines requires substantial investment.”

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 4.5

You communicate a basic opinion using simple statements, and you attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences with “because” and “so that.” However, the range of sentence structures is very limited, and frequent errors in word order, verb forms, articles, and sentence boundaries sometimes obscure your meaning. For instance, “Free of charge water supply should every home” needs a subject and a clearer structure, while “people cannat afford this” does not clearly identify what “this” refers to. The sentence beginning “The government should limited amount” also lacks a correctly formed verb and structure. Practise accurate simple sentences first, then combine them using clauses such as “because” and “although.” Check that each sentence has a subject and a correctly formed verb.
