Student answer (Band 5.5)

Availability of fresh water is everyones right. So water supply is provided for zero cost. I agree with this statement and i will share my views in further subsections.

Fresh water is basic livelihood for every human being because water is used for many purposes like drinking, bathing, and washing. Fresh water keep the person healthy. In many states of the country where the basic drinking water is not available, however some rich people waste thousands litre of fresh water form them. Everyone have to save water for next generation because if people not save water for next genration they will die by scarcity of water.

Government should provide fresh water to every single house for free because it is their duty to provide basic facilities to public. Government should also stary campaigns to spread awareness of how important to save water because people thought that 75% of earth carring water, so the water will never end but they don't know that only 0.2% of water is fresh and drinkable.

To conclude, I just want to say that every single person used amount of water according to their requirement. People should save water for upcoming generation and government should provide fresh water to every house for free

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

Your position is clear: you agree that households should receive water free of charge, and you give relevant reasons, including water’s importance for daily life and the government’s responsibility to provide basic services. The point about limited freshwater also supports your argument. However, the ideas are only briefly explained: for example, you mention unequal access and waste by wealthy people but do not show how free household supply would address these problems. The response also does not meet the required minimum length, so there is limited space to develop and support your reasons. Add a fuller explanation and a specific example, and address how free provision could be managed responsibly.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has a recognisable structure, with an opening, supporting points and a conclusion, and the main position is easy to identify. Basic links such as “because,” “however” and “To conclude” help connect ideas. However, the progression between points is not always clear: the discussion moves from water’s everyday uses to unequal access, then to conservation and government campaigns without fully explaining the links. The phrase “further subsections” also does not accurately describe the essay’s organisation. Develop each main point in a separate, focused paragraph and use references such as “this responsibility” or “such campaigns” to make connections clearer and less repetitive.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “basic facilities,” “scarcity of water,” “awareness” and “fresh water,” so the reader can understand your main ideas. However, the range is limited and some expressions are imprecise or unnatural, such as “provided for zero cost,” “basic livelihood” and “waste thousands litre of fresh water form them.” Spelling errors, including “genration” and “stary,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for more precise collocations and check spelling carefully. For instance, “free of charge,” “essential for human life” and “waste thousands of litres” would express your ideas more naturally and clearly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

Your writing communicates a clear overall meaning, and you attempt to connect ideas in longer sentences, for example with “because” and “however.” However, the range of sentence structures is limited, and errors occur frequently in basic grammar. Examples include “Fresh water keep” instead of “Fresh water keeps,” “Everyone have” instead of “Everyone has,” and “if people not save” instead of “if people do not save.” There are also problems with articles, plurals and sentence boundaries. Practise accurate subject–verb agreement and build longer sentences from correct clauses; for example, “If people do not conserve water, future generations may face shortages.”
