Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear from the introduction: you disagree with providing water free of charge, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons—maintaining infrastructure and preventing waste. The conclusion also restates these points, so the response addresses the question. However, the ideas are not equally developed. The infrastructure paragraph explains that pipes and filtration require funding, but it does not clarify how charging households would ensure access while protecting people who cannot afford water. The claim that people waste water when it is free is supported mainly by a general example about India, without specific evidence or explanation. Develop these points with a concrete example and acknowledge the distinction between a basic guaranteed supply and unlimited free use.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two reason-based body paragraphs and a conclusion. The sequence from infrastructure costs to possible misuse is logical, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Moreover” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the argument. However, some linking is mechanical or unclear. For example, “Because of that” is separated from the preceding sentence, and “Therefore” appears repeatedly without always showing a precise relationship between ideas. The sentence beginning “If government provide…” is followed by a fragment beginning “because of that,” which interrupts the flow. Use complete sentences, vary transitions, and make references such as “it” and “that” clearly identify what they refer to.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use vocabulary relevant to the topic, including “infrastructure,” “constant supply,” “filtration cost” and “wasted,” and you attempt more formal expressions such as “To articulate.” This gives you enough language to communicate the main argument, but noticeable spelling and word-choice errors reduce precision and can make the reader pause. Examples include “foundamental,” “nagative,” “maintaines,” “fillteration” and “missused.” Some combinations are also unnatural, such as “provide fresh water at the free” and “charge for water supply” when discussing household fees. Choose accurate topic collocations and check spelling carefully. Prefer straightforward, natural phrasing over formal-sounding expressions that do not fit the sentence.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and complex forms, including a conditional idea about what might happen if water were free, and you use cause-and-effect clauses to explain your position. However, control is uneven, and errors in sentence boundaries, verb forms, agreement and articles sometimes make the argument harder to follow. For instance, “Because of that in the modern era” is an incomplete sentence, while “government have maintain” and “people might used” have incorrect verb forms. “Each and every house must be provided free water access” also needs a more accurate grammatical construction. Practise forming complete sentences and checking subject–verb agreement, verb patterns after modal verbs, and article use. More accurate complex sentences would strengthen your range.
