Student answer (Band 5.5)

It is often argued that obtaining access to clean water is basic human right. Thus resulting in providence of water, free of cost.In this essay this topic wil be discussed with my view on it.

To begin with, Human has many primary needs including clean water which needs to be met at any condition.Majority of activity that we do including agriculture , habitation, consumption depends on clean water. For our survival and day to day activities it completely relies on water. As a result, government should provide the necessities of people free of cost which will help them for their survival and improve their way of living. For example, In sudan ,government is distributing water free of cost to provide them aid for basic necessities.

Moreover, although wealthy people can afford water of the finest quality that may not be possible for someone who is stuggling with other expenses and financial burderns. When government introduces these kind of policy which allows citizen to acess free water it would help these people to have better life .It would help them to be at ease from their financial burden and they can use their time and energy on other things which can help to improve the socity welfare and pressing issues.

In conclusion, clean water is basic human right and it should be provided free of cost which would greatly help people met their primary need as well as it would help people who are financially struggling. I firmly agree with this view and it should be provided because life is already hard we as community to should help mankind so that everyone can have a better life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be provided free, and both body paragraphs give relevant reasons, including basic survival needs and the financial pressure on poorer households. The Sudan example also attempts to support your point. This fits the descriptor because the task is addressed, but some ideas are more fully explained than others. For instance, you mention agriculture and daily activities, yet do not explain how free household supply would address these needs or how it could be funded. The example is also brief and not developed with specific detail. To strengthen the response, explain the practical implications of your reasons and develop one example more fully while maintaining your clear position.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall arrangement: an introduction, two body paragraphs signalled by “To begin with” and “Moreover,” and a conclusion that restates your view. The ideas generally progress from water as a basic need to the benefits for people facing financial hardship. However, some linking is mechanical, and connections between sentences are not always clear. For example, “For our survival and day to day activities it completely relies on water” has an unclear reference, while the conclusion’s final sentence combines several ideas without a clear relationship. Use pronouns with unmistakable references and make each sentence’s connection explicit. More varied transitions and clearer links between claims and examples would make the progression smoother.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “basic necessities,” “financial burden,” “primary need,” and “survival.” These choices communicate the main argument, and you attempt some less common expressions. However, word choice and spelling are often inaccurate or awkward, which limits precision: “providence of water” does not express the intended idea, “stuggling” and “burderns” are misspelled, and “socity welfare” is unclear. Some phrases are also repetitive, particularly “free of cost” and “help people.” Aim for accurate, natural collocations and check spelling carefully. Replacing repeated general wording with precise terms such as “provide a free household water supply” or “ease financial pressure” would improve clarity and range.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and more complex sentence forms, including a concession beginning “although wealthy people can afford…” and a relative clause in “someone who is…”. However, control is limited, and errors in sentence formation, articles, agreement, and punctuation occur often enough to make some sentences difficult to follow. For example, “It is often argued that obtaining access to clean water is basic human right” needs an article, while “For our survival and day to day activities it completely relies on water” has an unclear grammatical subject. The opening fragments, “Thus resulting…” and “In this essay this topic wil be discussed,” also weaken accuracy. Practise complete sentences, clear subject–verb structures, and accurate punctuation before adding more complex clauses.
