Student answer (Band 6.0)
It is often argued by some people that clean water is a basic need for every human. I completely agree with this statement . Not only because of health risk but also because of mental health. This easy will explore how these factors justify my opinion.
There are multiple factors assosiated with this trend. Firstly, one of major reason to compel me to agree with this viewpoint is related to diseases caused due to contaminated water. For example, according to World Health Organization, maximum stomach diseases like diarrhea, ulcer etc are due to drinking dirty water. In addition, universities like Oxford and Harvard also highlight how clean water can improve health risk.
Secondly, another factor supporting my argument is benefits of taking clean water like clear skin. If we drink purefied water we did not face skin related problems. We have clear and healthy skin. Skin problems like dry skin and skin cancer commonly due to polluted water or lack of water.
By combining all the factors, it is very important that every home should have free water supply provided by government. By doing this we will have healthy and less risky society in our country. Providing free of cost water supply is also important because all families do not bear the expenses. So, it is government's responsibility to provide water plant without any charges.
In short, even though some people might disagree with this concern, I believe that it is good initiated. I strongly agree with the statement given.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0
Your position is clear from the introduction (“I completely agree”) and is maintained in the conclusion. You give relevant reasons, including the health risks of contaminated water and the financial burden on families, so the response addresses the central issue. However, the argument does not fully develop the specific proposal that water should be free in every home: the discussion focuses mainly on health benefits, and the skin-related claims are asserted rather than explained or supported. The reference to government responsibility begins to address provision and cost, but would be stronger with a concrete example or explanation of how free access would benefit households. Develop each main reason more fully and connect it directly to the policy in the question.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting reasons, and a conclusion. Sequencing phrases such as “Firstly,” “Secondly,” and “In short” help readers follow the main points, and the overall progression is understandable. Some linking is mechanical, however, and the opening of the second body paragraph (“another factor supporting my argument”) repeats the same framing rather than developing a distinct line of reasoning. The relationship between the health claims and the conclusion about government provision could also be made clearer. Use a wider range of natural transitions and make each paragraph’s central point explicit, then link its evidence back to the claim that household water should be free.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.5
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “contaminated water,” “diseases,” “free water supply,” and “government’s responsibility,” which makes the main ideas clear. There are also attempts at more specific language, but several word-choice, collocation, and spelling problems reduce precision: “health risk” does not fit the intended meaning in “improve health risk,” while “clear skin” and “less risky society” are imprecise in context. Spelling errors such as “assosiated,” “purefied,” and “initiated” are noticeable. Aim for accurate, natural combinations and check spelling carefully. More precise terms for public health and affordability would help express the argument with greater flexibility.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You use both simple sentences and some attempts at more complex structures, such as “If we drink purefied water…” and “even though some people might disagree…”. The meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors remain. The opening fragment, “Not only because of health risk but also because of mental health,” is not a complete sentence, and “one of major reason” has problems with articles and number agreement. There are also errors in verb form and sentence construction, as in “we did not face skin related problems,” and punctuation is inconsistent, including the space before the full stop after “statement.” Practise complete sentences and check agreement, articles, and verb forms while retaining your attempts at complex clauses.
