Student answer (Band 5.5)
Clean water is another form of life, without clean water no life can be exists in this world. It is believe by some people that, it is essential to have access of clean water for all the human being. On going strict to that government should not charge for water. I believe, it is essential for a human to have clean water for living a safe life but i do not think that there should be free of charge for getting clean water. In this essay i will discuss how important water is for our daily life and also give my opinion why it should be charged by government.
A single human cannot live their life without water so it can be called a life giving element for our daily life. We need clean water for drinking, we cannot survive a single day without it. So it is very important to have access to clean water. as example i daily drink about 2 litters water. On a hot sunny day i need clean cold water 2 or 3 glass actually it provides us so much relief on a day like this. I am very great-full to have clean water in my daily life
However, water should not be free of charge. If a government provides no charge we will waste a lot of water. wasting is in our blood we cannot strict to a situations if we get it free. we do not follow the rule of proper use of amount. So i personally governments should charge a minimum amount for clean water. By ensuring a charge it will cost as a dollar which will teach as proper use of water.
In conclusion, we all need clean water to lead a healthy life. It is a basic human need to live happily but for preventing the waste of water there should be a change. I believe it will give access to people who really need clean water otherwise a lot of water will be wasted.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
You take a clear position against providing water free of charge and address both the importance of clean water and the question of payment. The point that charging could discourage waste is relevant, and the personal example about drinking water helps illustrate its everyday importance. However, the argument is only partly developed: the discussion of waste relies on broad claims such as “wasting is in our blood,” without explaining how a small charge would change behaviour or how affordability for poorer households would be protected. The introduction also promises to discuss water’s importance, which receives more space than the central policy question. Develop the reasons for your position with clearer explanation and a specific example.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure: an introduction, a paragraph on water’s importance, a contrasting paragraph on charges, and a conclusion. “However” signals the shift to your main opposing argument, and the conclusion returns to your position. At times, though, progression is repetitive: the first body paragraph repeats that people need water and cannot survive without it, while the final paragraph restates the need to prevent waste without adding a new implication. Some links between ideas are unclear, particularly “On going strict to that government” and “So i personally governments should charge.” Use clearer topic sentences, connect each example directly to the claim it supports, and make references such as “it” and “this” more precise.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant vocabulary for the topic, including “clean water,” “access,” “government,” “waste,” and “basic human need,” so the main ideas are generally understandable. However, the range is limited and several expressions are inaccurate or unnatural, which sometimes makes the meaning harder to follow. For example, “another form of life” does not clearly express that water is essential, “life giving element” is an awkward collocation, and “a change” in the conclusion does not convey the intended idea of a charge. There are also spelling and word-form errors such as “litters” and “great-full.” Build a more precise set of topic phrases and check collocations and spelling when revising.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and longer sentences, including a contrast introduced by “However” and a reason clause beginning “If a government provides no charge.” However, complex sentences are often faulty, and errors occur frequently enough to make some sentences difficult to interpret. Examples include “no life can be exists,” “It is believe by some people,” and “I personally governments should charge,” where verb forms or sentence structure are incomplete or incorrect. There are also problems with articles, agreement, and punctuation, as in “a human,” “a lot of water will be wasted,” and the run-on construction “wasting is in our blood we cannot strict to a situations.” Practise accurate clause formation and proofread sentence boundaries, verb forms, and agreement.
