Student answer (Band 5.5)
In the current era, the access to clean water is a basic human right but there is ongoing debate that many experts belive that every home should have a water supply that is provided free of charge while, other belive that there should be charge on the water supply, i personally agree with this statment because of following reason mention on the upcoming paragraph.
firstly, In the modern society people have several rights but they are still facing the problem access to clean water because of the rapid industrial development water sources are begin pollutated day by day which directly affect on general public.
Nowdays, there is no clean and drinkable water in the river or pond because of the westage we throw on these areas which directly affect on the clean water which we used to drink at the daily life. Government should make the strict rules and regulations agents the these activities.
Governments should provide the free water water supply in every house it is becuase water is most necessery to make our survival. If government provide the free water supply in every home then there will be automatically decrease in the unhelathy lifestyle of the people which eveuntually help to produce the skilled and helathy manpower which will be directly benifit for the governments and the public of the country.
In conclusion, people are lossing their life because of the unhelthy water they drink on the regular basis but if there will be the free water supply in every house of the country then it will automatically eliminate this problem and people may get another life.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5
Your position is clear: you support free household water, and you give relevant reasons involving water pollution, public health and the benefits of a healthier population. However, the task is only partly developed. The pollution paragraphs explain why clean water is important, but they do not fully show why the supply should be free rather than paid for, and the claim that free water will create skilled workers needs explanation or an example. The conclusion repeats the health argument rather than adding a developed final point. The response is also 247 words, three words below the 250-word minimum; the 22 words copied from the prompt are not counted. Develop the affordability or fairness argument to address the central proposal more directly.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5
The response has a recognisable structure, with an introduction, supporting paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “firstly” and “In conclusion” help identify the stages. However, progression between ideas is limited: the first two body paragraphs both discuss pollution, while the later paragraph shifts to free provision without a clear link explaining how this addresses pollution. Some connections are awkward or repetitive, including “which directly affect” and repeated references to “free water supply.” The introduction also contains several ideas in one long sentence, making the position harder to follow. Give each paragraph a distinct purpose and use clearer links between the problem, the proposed policy and its expected effects.
Lexical Resource: Band 5.0
You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “clean water,” “industrial development,” “pollutated” and “strict rules and regulations,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main concerns. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, collocation and spelling errors make the writing less precise. Examples include “westage” for waste, “unhelathy lifestyle,” “make our survival,” and “people are lossing their life.” Repetition of “free water supply” also reduces variety. Aim to learn accurate topic collocations and check spelling and word forms carefully; more precise expressions would help you explain the relationship between access, affordability and public health.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0
You attempt both simple and complex sentences, for example using “because” to explain causes and “if” to describe a possible result. However, the range is limited, and complex sentences are often faulty, with frequent errors that sometimes make relationships between ideas difficult to follow. In “there is ongoing debate that many experts believe,” the clause structure is unclear; “people have several rights but they are still facing the problem access” is missing a grammatical link; and “if government provide” has incorrect subject–verb agreement. Articles, prepositions and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly in the long opening sentence. Practise building shorter, accurate sentences first, then combine them using correctly formed clauses.
