Student answer (Band 6.0)
There is no doubt that access to clean water is basic human right. Therefore, some people argue that every household should have free of cost water supply, I completely disagree with this statement as providing cost free water supply might put government in a huge financial burden and lead to excessive water consumption.
Supplying water for free could put a financial burden to the government. Although people have rights to access water, building the water system that connects to every household is the responsibilities of government and to hire professional which cost quite a large sum. If the fund required for the project is insufficent then it can be suspended for several years, that is the reason why the system should rise campaign for low income earning citizens the limited amount of charge for certain quantity of water, which can directly supports the givernment in handling finacial crisis.
Additionally, offering free water to the residents can lead to the excessive consumption of water without thinking of preserving it for the future as they will think it is free of cost and can use it whenever they want without the care of anything. For instance, they might take an hour to shower and use excessive amount of water while cooking, cleaning. Thus, this will create a huge waste while water is limited natural resources we have to preserve it and must be use in a carefull way. Furthermore, to limit the waste of water government can introduce awareness program with how preserving it will be benefical than wasting it in various factors of life.
In conclusion, clean water is absolutely the basic human rights while using it in a proper way plays a significant role in how they utilize the given right. Personally, I agree that water supply should not be free of charge to every household as they can impact givernment financially and may also increased the excessive consumption of water.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.5
Your position is clear from the introduction and conclusion: you disagree with free household water, mainly because of government costs and the risk of waste. Both reasons are relevant, and the examples of long showers and water use in cooking and cleaning help illustrate the second point. This addresses the task well, while the explanation of public costs is less fully developed: the discussion of infrastructure and hiring professionals does not clearly show why charging households is the best solution. The suggestion of a limited charge for lower-income citizens is potentially useful, but its relationship to your overall argument needs clarification. To strengthen the response, explain how a fair pricing system could protect access to essential water while discouraging waste.
Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.5
The response has a clear overall structure: an introduction, two body paragraphs presenting separate reasons, and a conclusion that restates your view. Linking expressions such as “Additionally,” “For instance,” and “In conclusion” help readers follow the progression. However, some connections within sentences are difficult to follow, particularly the long explanation beginning “If the fund required for the project is insufficient,” where the proposed campaign and charge are not clearly linked to the preceding point. The conclusion also repeats the main reasons rather than drawing them together. Use shorter, more clearly connected sentences and make references explicit—for example, explain precisely what “the system” refers to and how the proposed charge would address the funding problem.
Lexical Resource: Band 6.0
You use an adequate range of topic vocabulary, including “financial burden,” “excessive consumption,” “preserving,” and “limited natural resources.” These choices communicate the main ideas, and some less common expressions show an effort to discuss the issue precisely. However, several word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “free of cost water supply,” “rise campaign,” and “handling financial crisis.” Spelling errors, including “insufficent,” “givernment,” and “benefical,” also reduce accuracy. Aim for natural combinations and check word forms and spelling: for instance, use “a free water supply,” “launch a campaign,” and “manage a financial crisis.” This would make your argument sound more fluent and precise.
Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5
You attempt both simple and complex sentence forms, including a conditional structure (“If the fund required for the project is insufficient…”) and clauses introduced by “Although” and “as.” The overall meaning is generally understandable, but some grammatical errors make parts of the argument harder to follow. Examples include the missing article in “is basic human right,” the agreement error in “building the water system … is the responsibilities,” and the faulty construction “to hire professional which cost.” There are also problems with verb forms and sentence boundaries, as in “this will create a huge waste while water is limited natural resources” and “must be use.” Work on articles, subject–verb agreement, and complete, well-punctuated clauses. Breaking the longest sentences into two would help you control these structures more accurately.
