Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 4.5

You state a clear position—“I fully agree”—and refer to water scarcity in India and drought in Africa, so the response is connected to the topic. However, it only partially answers the central question of whether every home should receive water free of charge: most of the discussion concerns shortages, population, rainwater harvesting, and international aid, rather than the case for or against free household supply. The reasons are brief and examples are not developed enough to show how free provision would work or why it is justified. The conclusion shifts towards helping Africa without restating a clear argument about free water. The response is also 23 words below the required minimum. Develop two relevant reasons and support each with a specific explanation or example.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.0

The response has a basic paragraph structure, moving from an introduction to examples of water scarcity and then a conclusion. This gives the reader some sense of organisation. However, there is no clear progression in the argument: the discussion moves from India’s population and farming to African drought, then to rainwater harvesting and aid from other countries, without linking these points back to free household water. Connectors such as “Even though” and “In conclusion” are used, but the relationships they signal are not always clear. Some references, including “they” and “that why,” are difficult to follow. To improve, organise each body paragraph around one reason and use clear linking sentences to show how it supports your position.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use some topic-related vocabulary, including “shortage,” “drought,” “rain water harvesting,” and “drinking water,” which helps communicate the general subject. However, the range is limited and several word choices or combinations are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “the conception of water is rapidly increasing,” “normal water,” and “highest populated country.” These expressions can make the intended meaning unclear. Repetition of “water,” “country,” and “because” also limits flexibility. Aim to use precise terms for the ideas you discuss, such as water demand, access to safe drinking water, and densely populated areas. Check spelling and word forms, and choose collocations that express your meaning directly.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt both simple and longer sentence forms, for example, “Even though Africa like continent have less population county then also they don't get the proper normal water.” However, complex sentences are often difficult to follow because clauses are not controlled accurately. Errors with articles, agreement, plurals, and sentence boundaries occur throughout, as in “an basic need,” “the Government provide,” and “there are many area.” Capitalisation and punctuation are also inconsistent, particularly in the opening sentence and around “My inclination.” These frequent errors sometimes make the reader work to understand the message. Practise building accurate short sentences first, then combine them using one clear subordinate clause at a time; proofread for subject–verb agreement and articles.
