Student answer (Band 5.5)

Clean water access is a must human need. So every should be provided charge-free clean water supply and there is no doubt about this.

The another name of water is life. But the water should be clean and safe for drinking and for other purposes. Clean water is a necessary component of day to day life. For washing our hands to drink for thirst, safe water is necessary. On the other hand, contaminated water is nothing but a curse to human being as it can thraten our life carrying heavy metals, caecinogenic compounds and deadly pathogens. Using such water can risk anyone in severe conditions. That is why access to clean water is a basic human requirement. But the matter of regret is that many of the countries having serious issues to provide clean water to it's people. As a result, waterborne diseases are spreading and creating epidemics.

Bangladesh can be considered as a example of bad water supply. In this country, most of the rivers are polluted. These revers were considered as the source of clean water in the past. The government here fails to save these rivers from pollution as well as supplying clean water in the rural and under-developed areas. Again, there is no ensurity of having safe water in the cities as well. Therefore, the residents of this country are being deprived from their basic right. The responsible authority should work on this issue to provide water supply to every home of the nation.

In the end, there are a lot of home around the globe lacking drinkable water supply. We all should come forward to ensure this basic requirement and raise our voice to create public awareness to wake up the responsible ones.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be available to everyone, and you explain why it matters for health and daily life. The discussion of contaminated water and the Bangladesh example is relevant, especially the contrast between polluted rivers and inadequate supply. However, the response does not fully develop the central proposal that water should be provided free of charge. Most of the essay argues for access to safe water, while the costs, practical challenges, or reasons for making the supply free are not explored. The final paragraph calls for public awareness but adds little support to the argument. To strengthen the response, explain why free provision is fair or necessary and support that reasoning with a specific example or consequence.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The essay has a recognisable overall structure: an opening position, explanation of the importance of clean water, a country example, and a concluding appeal. This gives the reader a clear route through the response. Some links are effective, such as “On the other hand” to contrast safe and contaminated water, and “As a result” to show a consequence. However, transitions can feel mechanical, and the relationship between the Bangladesh example and the claim about free household supply is not made explicit. The conclusion also repeats the general call for action rather than drawing together the argument. Use clearer links between each example and your position, and organise the body paragraphs around distinct reasons for free provision.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “contaminated water,” “heavy metals,” “pathogens,” “waterborne diseases,” and “epidemics,” which helps communicate the health risks. There are also attempts at less common wording, but several choices or spellings are inaccurate or unnatural, such as “charge-free,” “ensurity,” “revers,” and “deprived from.” Phrases including “a must human need” and “a curse to human being” are understandable but do not sound natural in this context. These errors sometimes make the reader pause, although the main message remains clear. Build accuracy by learning common collocations for water access and public services, and check spelling and word forms carefully before submitting.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentences, including clauses with “as” and “as a result,” and most of the argument can be followed. However, some grammatical errors affect clarity and control. For example, “So every should be provided” is missing a noun, while “The another name” has an incorrect article structure. There are also problems with agreement and sentence construction in “many of the countries having serious issues,” and “most of the rivers are polluted” is followed by “These revers,” where the reference is unclear. Review articles, subject–verb agreement, and complete sentence patterns. Aim to make complex sentences accurate before adding further complexity, and proofread punctuation and sentence boundaries.
