Student answer (Band 6.0)

Water is the most important element for survival, people cannot live without it. Water consist more than the lands in the whole world. Although access to clean water is considered as a basic human right, but there is a scarcity of pure drinking water in many parts of the world. In this essay, I will argue why every residence needs to have a source of fresh water to drink that should be provided free of cost.

Water is the key ingredient that is needed for human for their everyday life. An individual needs water to stay hydrated and people get energy from drinking water too. Also, a person needs pure water after eating any meals to digest the foods. Also for cooking foods, water is necessary. Other than consuming, water is used for several other purpooses such as cleaning the dirty cloths, bathing, and house-cleaning.

Although water is needed for our day-to-day life, people are also suffering because of this. In many regions across the globe, people do not get fresh and drinkable water. There are countries in Sub-saharan region where every individual struggles to access clean water. Only the rich ones easily access the water, and the underprivileged communities suffer every single day. For this reason, adults as well as the children are being affected by many waterborne diseases. Many dies every year because of not getting pure water and death toll rises if any epidemic occurs such as cholera.

From my perspective, access to clean water is a human right, and it is a necessity too. So, it should not be influenced by a person's social and economic background. Also, the problem should not deal as a separate issue of a region, rather it should create awareness for the whole world. I agree with the notion that people should be provided with pure drinking water without paying money.

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 6.0

Your position is clear: you agree that clean water should be provided without charge, and you address both its importance in daily life and the unequal access that can lead to illness. The examples of cooking, hygiene and waterborne diseases are relevant to the question. However, some points are more fully explained than others. The first body paragraph lists several uses of water but does not explain why these uses justify free provision specifically. The discussion of unequal access and disease is more persuasive, though it would benefit from a concrete example or a fuller explanation of how free household supply could address the problem. Develop this link between your reasons and your position more consistently, and clarify what you mean by a supply for every home.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 6.0

The response has a coherent overall structure: an introduction states your position, the body paragraphs present reasons, and the conclusion restates your view. The progression from water’s everyday uses to unequal access and health consequences is generally easy to follow. You also use linking expressions such as “Although,” “For this reason,” and “From my perspective.” At times, however, connections feel mechanical or repetitive, particularly the repeated use of “Also” in the second paragraph. The opening sentence joins two complete ideas with a comma, and the final paragraph moves from individual rights to global awareness without clearly explaining the connection. Use a wider range of transitions and make the relationship between each supporting point and your main argument more explicit.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.5

You use a relevant range of vocabulary for the topic, including “scarcity,” “underprivileged communities,” “waterborne diseases,” and “epidemic.” These choices help communicate the seriousness of unequal access. However, some word choices and collocations are inaccurate or awkward, such as “Water consist more than the lands,” “get energy from drinking water,” and “the death toll rises.” There are also spelling errors, including “purpooses” and “cloths,” and some repetition of basic terms such as “water,” “people,” and “pure.” Aim for more precise, natural phrasing and check spelling carefully. For example, distinguish “clean drinking water” from water used for other household purposes, and choose expressions that accurately describe hydration and disease-related deaths.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.5

You attempt a mix of simple and complex sentence forms, including clauses beginning with “Although” and “if,” and most of your meaning remains clear. Some grammatical errors nevertheless occur. The opening has a comma splice in “Water is the most important element for survival, people cannot live without it,” while “Water consist” has subject–verb disagreement. In “Although …, but …,” the conjunctions are used together incorrectly, and “a person needs pure water after eating any meals to digest the foods” has awkward article and plural choices. The final paragraph also contains a faulty passive construction in “the problem should not deal as a separate issue.” Practise joining clauses accurately, checking agreement and articles, and varying sentence structures while maintaining control.
