Student answer (Band 5.5)

IN contemporary time ,water becomes contaminated around the globe which further leads many problems such as assessing clean water is now very difficult due to pollution and global warming but accessing clean and drinkable water is a human right so government must provide drinkale water to everyone i agree this statement up to large exent .i will dicuss my viewpoints in upcomping paragraphs To begin with ,why assesing clean water is neccessary to everyone.Firstly contaminated water leads severval heath problems such as breathing problems ,fever and weight loss .There are many other disease which cuase serious illeness if they drink contaminated water .Secondly it is human right to acces clean water because we live in a democratic country where everone has right to speak for their right .Government should launch some scehmes so that every person assess clean water regardlees their income .mostly below the poverty line indiviuals not obtain drinkable water . furthermore ,factories and big companies often lead pollution and marine waste due to this large amount of rivers water are contaminated Government take strict action against these factories and also impose high penalities if they dump any kind of waste into rivers .In urban areas this is main reason of shortage of clean water.for example in cities everyhousehold must have aqua filter beacuse in cities their is no facities of drinkale water if governemt take responsibily then this problem can be solved In conclusion ,assesing clean water is human right but due to shortage of filter water peole face many difficulities .government must lauch shchmes thats help everyone to assess clean water

Task Achievement / Task Response: Band 5.5

You take a position in favour of government-provided clean water, stating that you “agree this statement,” and give relevant reasons: contaminated water can harm health, poorer people may lack access, and industrial waste pollutes rivers. These points address the topic, but the response only partially develops the central proposal that water should be free in every home. For example, you recommend schemes and penalties for polluting factories, yet do not explain how free household supply would be funded or why it should be free rather than affordable. The example about city households needing filters is relevant but unclear and not fully connected to your argument. Develop each main reason with a clearer explanation or specific example, and state your position more precisely in the introduction and conclusion.

Coherence and Cohesion: Band 5.5

The response has an identifiable introduction, two body paragraphs and a conclusion, and signposts such as “To begin with,” “Firstly,” “Secondly” and “Furthermore” help readers recognise the main points. However, progression within paragraphs is sometimes difficult to follow: the discussion moves from health effects to democratic rights, then to poverty, without clearly showing how each point supports free water for every household. Some linking is mechanical or inaccurate, and the long opening sentence combines several ideas without clear boundaries. The conclusion repeats the general position but does not bring the reasons together. Use one focused topic sentence per paragraph, connect each example explicitly to the claim, and separate ideas into clear sentences with appropriate punctuation.

Lexical Resource: Band 5.0

You use relevant topic vocabulary, including “contaminated water,” “poverty line,” “factories,” “pollution” and “penalties,” so the reader can identify the subject and your main concerns. However, the range is limited and several word-choice, spelling and collocation errors make parts of the response difficult to understand, such as “assessing clean water,” “drinkale water,” “marine waste” and “shortage of filter water.” Repetition of “clean water” and “government” also limits flexibility. Choose precise expressions such as “access to safe drinking water” and “industrial waste,” and check spelling carefully. Building a small set of accurate topic phrases and using them consistently would make your argument clearer and more natural.

Grammatical Range and Accuracy: Band 5.0

You attempt some longer sentences and use basic sequencing structures, but the range of sentence forms is limited, and complex attempts are often faulty. For example, the opening runs several clauses together without clear punctuation, while “There are many other disease which cuase serious illeness if they drink contaminated water” has problems with plural agreement and clause structure. Errors with articles, subject–verb agreement and sentence boundaries recur, as in “Government take strict action” and “everyhousehold must have aqua filter.” These patterns sometimes make the intended meaning harder to follow. Practise writing shorter, complete sentences first, then combine related ideas with accurate conjunctions. Check agreement, articles and punctuation during revision.
